My husband and I stayed in the Sunset Kahili 506 for 4 nights in June. This condo is clean and updated. The condo had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and oh my goodness the views from the bedroom and living room are gorgeous! We will definitely be staying here again.

stunning views!
My husband and I had a very happy stay at Sunset Kahili 506.
The condo was the perfect size for a couple. Highlights were the spectacular 5th-floor ocean views, seen over the parking lot and front condo complex, and the soothing sounds of ocean waves from the living area and bedroom. We appreciated the kitchen which was well stocked with everything to cook a meal (plenty of pots/pans, utensils, etc.), and the ability to cook out on the gas grill on the ground level. Another bonus was that Poipu Beach was only a 10-minute walk away, with other local attractions also a short distance. The washer and dryer in the unit was also a plus. Would stay again.

great location
This is a great condo for two. The location was perfect, just a quick walk to Poipu Beach and Brennecke Beach. The condo was clean and the kitchen was well stocked. We enjoyed watching the ocean during our morning coffee.

poipu anniversary stay
We rented this beautiful condo for our first wedding anniversary, and we couldn't have picked a better place to stay. Firstly, the patio with the amazing ocean view was where we spent most of our time while at the condo. For coffee and breakfast or sunset drinks it was the perfect setting. We loved having chairs and a cooler available to take down to the beach, this was such a nice surprise when we checked in. The bed was very comfortable and sleeping with the windows open allowed us to hear the ocean! Check in and out was easy with the office location right next to the airport. Would definitely book this place again!

sleep to the lullaby of the ocean!
WOW! THE VIEW! THE PICTURES DON'T LIE-YOU GET A GREAT VIEW OF THE OCEAN. AT NIGHT WE LEFT OUR WINDOW OPEN AND HEAR THE OCEAN WAVES ALL NIGHT LONG. WE DIDN'T HAVE A/C BUT THERE WERE PLENTY OF FANS TO KEEP US COOL. THOUGH A BIT OUTDATED, THE SHOWER WAS NICELY FINISHED WITH THE STONE FLOOR. IT WAS VERY CLEAN, SAFE AND WE LOVED HAVING THE ELEVATOR. THE PERSONAL PARKING SPOT WAS WONDERFUL AS WELL AS A NICE LITTLE GRILL SPOT RIGHT BELOW THE PARKING AREA THAT HAS A VIEW OF THE OCEAN. EVERYTHING YOU NEED IS CLOSE BY. WE WERE ABLE TO WALK EASILY TO THE BEACH. WE WILL DEFINITELY TRY TO BOOK THIS PLACE AGAIN ON OUR NEXT VISIT!

great location & beautiful view
The view was amazing (except for the construction garbage from a building remodel - hopefully that will be gone soon though). The condo was clean and as described. I loved that there was a little cooler and ice packs. The beach was a quick walk to see turtles on the beach at night. Be aware there is no A/C. It was a quiet location so if you want nightlife, this isn't the place for you. We would definitely stay here again!

paradise found!!!
The perfect Poipu location, on the highest floor with breathtaking ocean views for miles! The apartment was immaculate and thoughtfully furnished...right down to ice water and ice cubes upon arrival! This is a smaller, vintage complex (which personally I love!) so you get a unit that has more room overall and a colorful Hawaiian character than some bland resort. The grounds are pristine, including a pool that changes color! However it is not a new property, but impeccably maintained. The unit itself was entirely upgraded and looks exactly like the photos. There was an assigned parking space and so easy to load and unload. Personally I love an elevator! There is no way I could carry my luggage up five flights, so that was super important to me. There wasn’t an AC but I immediately opened the windows and the trades and fans kept it cool. A wonderful unit!

As always we loved our time in Kauai and love this property with such a glorious view. It would be nice if the couch and chair cushions and the chair cushions outside were replace/re-upholstered. They are not very supportive any more.

fall asleep listening to ocean waves!
Loved Our Stay in Hawaii!
We had such a great time at this place! The house was super clean, comfy, and had everything we needed—plenty of towels, a well-stocked kitchen, even beach gear. The vibe was really relaxed and the décor had that nice island feel that made it extra special.
There’s no A/C, but honestly, we loved it during the day The breeze flows through the house and the ceiling fans kept it cool, when there was crosswinds. It felt nice to enjoy the fresh air instead of being sealed up inside. Only suggestion is to place a portable AC unit in master bedroom.
To use when there aren’t any crosswinds.
The location was awesome—quiet and peaceful but close enough to beaches, food spots, and fun things to do. The hosts were super friendly and even left us a welcome basket with local treats. That was such a nice surprise!
If you're looking for a chill Hawaiian getaway, this is the spot. We’d totally stay here again!

stunning view in convenient location
We were able to watch whales from the stunning 180 degree view of the ocean from the lanai. The building is a bit outdated, but the apartment is cute, well-stocked and well located.

Unit 506 has excellent views of the ocean. Unit was very clean and unit had everything needed for cooking. BBQ onsite were excellent. Always clean and functioning. Ground of facility were very clean.
Only comment is it would be nice to have a few umbrellas around the swimming pool to provide some shade in the afternoons. We didn't utilize the swimming pools because it was just too hot to sit outside in direct sunlight.
Highly recommend booking at unit 506!!

lovely accomodations
We loved the view, we saw whales, turtles, dolphins and flying fish while we were there. And the sunsets were stunning! The condo was nice, well cared for, and clean. Everything we needed for our stay.

perfect south shore home base

great location! full ocean view!
Sunny South Shore! 5th Floor, full ocean view! Close to Poipu Beach. Six-minute drive to the Kukui’ula shops and eight minutes to Sueoka Market and Old Koloa Town. Easy day trips to Waimea Canyon and Hanalei Bay.
Older building, but the unit’s kitchen, bathroom and flooring have all been nicely updated. It’s clean, well equipped and quiet. The pool appears to be well maintained. The designated parking space and elevator were a plus.

great experience!
We’ve been to Kauai a number of times, always staying at a resort hotel. We thought we would try a condo this time and Sunset Kahili 506 got great reviews. After a weeks stay I totally agree! The condo was fantastic and we had a wonderful time! It is everything that the description describes plus more. We began and ended ours days sitting on the lani with its spectacular views watching the sun rise and set. So peaceful. The unit was super clean and well stocked (the kitchen was better stocked than mine at home). The location is within walking distance to many wonderful experiences. If you want a low key, quiet and relaxing vacation, this is the condo for you. The folks at Kauai Vacation Rentals should give classes to other businesses on customer service, because they are the best. Great communication, easy checkin and checkout process and a condo that exceeded our expectations. I also appreciate the fast refund of our security deposit after our stay. First class all the way!

a week in paradise watching the honu play
My wife and I stayed at the Sunset Kahili, a beautiful property in Poipu, wonderful ocean views, walking distance to Brennekes, Puka Dog and nice beaches. KVR was very helpful from our first contact right through to the end. We didn’t have any problems or issues, pick up from their office near the airport was a breeze and we can’t say enough good things about the experience. The 5th floor unit has a nice updated bathroom,great full size washer/dryer - 2 person max,nice blue water view. Negatives: NO garbage disposal and NO dishwasher - NO same floor trash disposal...all trash/recycling is to be taken to 1st floor. Only slightly inconvenient-the property has an elevator.

outstanding vacation
We were extremely satisfied with this condo. Views off the lanai, and in the bedroom and living room were amazing of the ocean, palm trees and sunset. Bed and other furniture comfortable.

gorgeous ocean view
Sunset Kahili is a lovely, modest condo with great ocean views. Number 506 has a recently remodeled kitchen and bathroom. The building is quiet and just a few minutes walk from Poipu beach. Wonderful breezes flow through the apartment and ceiling fans help cool temperatures. There is no air conditioning or automatic dishwasher, but neither is really necessary. All in all, a great place to stay.

great apartment in a convenient location
We really enjoyed this apartment. We had it for six days. It had everything we needed. We really enjoyed listening to the water crash on the shore every night. Wish we had figured out on the first day that the best way to keep it cool is to open the windows on both ends of the unit to get a cross breeze going. Only downside of this place is that since it is so open air, you get a lot of natural light early, so it's best for early risers.

a beautiful vacation location
This is a very nice unit recently remodeled in a beautiful location. We have stayed here before, and will stay here again. The only drawbacks were: no dishwasher or garbage disposal, & sometimes street noise is a problem. We understand that the pot smoking owner next door is leaving. We enjoyed a tour down in the Botanical Tropical Gardens, hiking up in Weimea Canyon, & along the Poipu beaches in both directions. Poipu Shopping Village has many good restaurants & shops, plus the Farmer's Markets are always interesting. Red Salt restaurant was also special. We also enjoy Hanapepe for food & shopping. Get your nails done at Donia"s in Koloa ! Best of all is just coming home, relaxing in the unit and enjoying the magnificent view ! Best on the island !!!!

amazing poipu ocean view condo
This is the 2nd time we have stayed at Sunset Kahili. We came back because it was the perfect location for us! We LOVE the sunsets and the sounds of the ocean! We were a bit worried about no AC at first, but honestly the constant ocean breeze and the fans were plenty for us! (I run cold and my husband runs warm and it still worked for us!) Sunset Kahili #506 has been nicely updated. Nice kitchen and bathroom finishes. We didn't notice there was not a dishwasher until we were there, not a deal breaker, but we are not the types to leave sinks full of dishes, so we were doing dishes often. The unit is very clean and has anything you will need for your stay. The staff at Kauai Vacation Rentals are always so welcoming and accommodating. I would recommend both Kauai Vacation Rentals and staying at Sunset Kahili!! We enjoy staying in Poipu because it always seems sunny and the sunsets cannot be beaten!! Kauai is such a special place and we feel blessed to get to come visit your island! MAHALO!

a wonderful stay at sunset kahili condos
My wife and I had a wonderful time during several weeks staying at Sunset Kahili Condos. The condo was clean, well stocked, and we had a clear view of the ocean for whale watching. The grounds are well kept.
Given the current Covid situation we did plenty of cooking in the condo - we did add a sharp knife and a stick-free pan to the kitchen gear. The re-modeled kitchen was a wonderful surprise!
Having the grill available was a bonus!
We loved being able to walk to the beach to check on the monk seals and turtles. :-)
Dealing with the rental agency was highly professional, and check-in and out directions were clear and easy to follow.
We are repeat renters and look forward to returning.

a view to die for
We had stayed in this complex before and were very satisfied; but this unit was on the top floor and faced the water directly. We spend most of our time enjoying that view, both night and day! Enjoyed watching the moon's travel across the night sky and with north star. Kitchen supplies were minimal, but we made do, even cooked a few meals. Really appreciated having an ice maker--few of the other units had them. And the pool was a plus. All in all, the only thing that was annoying was the parking arrangements. Assigned spots are painted on the asphalt, with no apparent logic, and of course, our spot was one of the farthest from the walkway to the elevator--the luck of the draw!

Had a great time at Sunset Kahili 506. Great property, walking distance to many beaches in Poipu. Super guidebooks left by the owner, they helped us a lot. Management team very responsive. Wonderful trade winds all day, no need for A/C. Hope to come back in the winter next time.

lovely location in kauai unit 506
Condo was located in great location in Poipu. There is one complex in between Sunset Kahili and the ocean, but being on the 5th floor you would not have known it - can see the ocean and hear the waves as if right on the ocean. Even though the complex does not have AC, we were fine with just the fans and the cross breeze when we needed it. Property, while older, was very clean and well-maintained. We were at Poipu Beach (don’t forget your reef safe sunscreen) every day so did not use the on site pool (no hot tub) but saw the on-site manager taking care of the area every day. Very handy that the unit had backpack beach chairs (though might be time to update those chairs), umbrella, beach towels, mini cooler and even a beach bag to borrow. The kitchen was well stocked even had basics like salt and pepper and small amount of vegetable oil for cooking. Lots of great restaurants in the area(reserve before!) - a couple walking distance or there was a local gentleman that gave rides in the Poipu at dinner time for tips. The location was an easy walk to baby beach (though slightly uphill coming back home) Be sure to walk down early morning 6am- to the beach- the turtles sleep there at night and you can usually catch one or two still on the beach (being protected by rope barriers) The Kauai Vacation rental team was excellent to deal with and provided very helpful info. The complex is definitely nice and quiet and ideal for couples looking for some quiet R&R or single travelers. We saw maybe one family there the whole time but it’s definitely a smaller complex. This unit was excellent because while facing the ocean, we did not get the direct sun in the afternoon so the unit probably stays cooler then the other rooms we saw on the opposite side. A rental car is definitely needed if you want to explore more than just Poipu. There was a bus we saw but quite a walk to get to. We did our grocery shopping at the Koloa local markets but also stopped at Safeway near the

This fifth floor condo was the perfect location for me as I just wanted to relax and take in the ocean view. The balcony is shaded throughout the day,so, I could sit there, have my coffee, read my book or enjoy a cocktail in the evening without the sun on me. The kitchen has been updated and is well organized and appointed. The furnishings and bed are of a bright tropical nature and comfy. Well I did not miss a dishwasher, other vacationers might. I would highly recommend this condo again. Mahalo.
