multi generational holiday
We totally enjoyed our stay in this beautiful cottage. The space was just right for our daughter, granddaughter and ourselves. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we need to cook our meals. The outdoor shower was wonderful! We spent many hours on the front porch, reading, playing games and doing art. The short walk to the beach was great, we could take a dip whenever we wanted to without having to deal with parking. The cottage grounds were beautiful, well maintained. We loved it and were sorry to say goodbye.

escape the resorts
This lovely Kauaian cottage has all the earmarks of authentic Hawaii: a low rock wall around the place, a giant monkeypod tree shading it and providing home for a gazillion birds that serve as nature's most beautiful morning alarm clock. A short walk straight to Brenneke Beach and Poipu Park, which is never as crowded as the nearby resorts. Special shout out as a cook and foodie: the kitchen knives provided are superb. Stay here if you want to make free long distance calls from the house phone (unusual amenity!). Open to the breezes, sturdy, comfortable furniture, everything works well.

poipu cottage
this was absolutely perfect for our family (except dad overheats without air conditioning) and we are so excited to return. Loved the cat and outdoor shower and walk to the beach.

a botanic oasis steps from the beach
Plantation Cottage is a bit of old Kauai with modern updates to the kitchen and bath. The front porch was a shaded haven for relaxation. The kitchen was well outfitted, beds were comfortable, there were lots of fans to assist the nearly constant breezes. Great location for families with small children; easy walk to Poipu Beach. The rental company and maintenance are very responsive. The huge monkey pod tree in front hosts a variety of birds. The landscaping is diverse and abundant. The property has a second rental cottage. Two other buildings are used daily by the friendly owner, who lives nearby. During our stay this was not a problem for us, but it might be for those seeking more privacy.

lovely cottage
We very much enjoyed our stay at the Plantation Cottage. Perfect, quiet location. It has everything you need and gives a very relaxing island vibe. I could sit on the lanai and listen to the random sprinkle and birds all day. Gorgeous Monkey Pod tree provides nice shade to keep the home cool. The outdoor shower was a great amenity after a day at the beach. We especially loved visiting the outdoor cat, Oni Oni. There is also a mango tree that we enjoyed a couple fresh mangos from. If we come back to south Kauai we'd definitely stay here again!

Paradise in paradise! This place was gorgeous from the beautiful layout and the incredible Banyon tree outside. The accessibility of the beach at the end of the road - the location was perfect - for a family of 5 this was the ultimate place to stay would absolutely come back here!

Plantation Cottage is a wonderful place. My wife and I have been to Kauai multiple times, and we love Poipu Beach. We always look for rental properties on Pane Road due to the location and Plantation Cottage fits that bill.
The Cottage itself is fine but it might be a bit outdated. The fan in one of the bedrooms is quite noisy and so is the bed. The family room furniture definitely needs an upgrade and also the TV. A smart TV would be nice so you can stream from your personal device.
A few things to know about this rental. There are more buildings/houses on the property and there could be more renters. We stayed for 2 weeks and had no renters, but the owner kept coming at all times every day. I know it’s his property and he can come and go as he pleases, but if we had known, I would not have rented this place. You rent a house because you want privacy. Again, other renters would be ok, since you’d have known and both parties would have been on the same level, but the owner coming by constantly is just not what you’d expect.
Another thing not mentioned in the description; the owner has a cat living on the property; I’m not a cat person and I don’t want a cat on my lanai table during lunch or dinner. It starts “asking for food” in the morning and begs on the lanai.
Having said that, we enjoyed the place to the fullest and the owner is very friendly and drops fresh fruit at the Lanai, he also brought new Beach chairs. Kauai, Brennecke’s and Poipu Beach are still my favorite spots.

Just had a wonderful stay. The property was clean and great customer service. I would recommend to friends and relatives.
One thing to note- the sofas and chairs are very uncomfortable.

the plantation cottage near poipu beach is great
The Plantation Cottage near Poipu Beach is GREAT! It was perfect for our nephew, niece and their two young children, with 3 connecting bedrooms and comfy, kid-friendly living room and porch. And just a very short walk to Brennekee and Poipu beaches. A great house and great value.

Good experience overall. Close to the beach, beach chairs and snorkel equipment there to use. We bought a bucket with shovels etc and left for future families. Walls are thin so you have to be quiet after kids are asleep. I wish we would have known about laundry access, would have made our trip so much better as there are no close laundromats near by. I found a key hanging by the back door labeled "laundry" on our last morning there. Kitchen well stocked with appliances. The beds do make a lot of noise just rolling over on them. Otherwise great experience. The woman staying in the back house of lot was friendly and helpful. There is a bar very close by with live music which can be loud at night but the fans mainly blocked out the noise even with windows open. Thank you for letting us stay at your property!

comfortable and homey cottage
A friend and I enjoyed the home for a week. The beds are comfy, the bathroom is modern, the furnishings are beach house comfortable. The kitchen is very well equipped, except could use more glass drinking glasses instead of plastic tumblers. Plenty of fans and plenty of towels were very appreciated. Beach chairs etc were available. The house is very clean. I encountered a few harmless scared small critters in the kitchen near the end of our stay. The exterior access could be improved—the driveway has a large rock you have to avoid, and the stepping stones to the front door are spaced too far apart to use. Do heed the instructions about parking on one side of the driveway, as gardeners parked on the other side. The porch was a lovely place to eat and hang out at all times of day, with the monkeypod tree sheltering above and filled with birds. We liked hearing the surf crashing at Brennecke’s Beach. Occasional music from Kalapaki Joe’s drifted over at happy hour. Loved being able to walk places. It was a happy week staying at the Plantation Cottage.

Having returned from our holiday yesterday, last evening we were talking about the highlights of our vacation. Our stay at the Plantation Cottage was one of the best surprises we had when visiting Kauai. The house has a beautiful feel to it. Nestled in the trees, and just a few steps from the beach, it was a great place for us to relax and enjoy. We look forward to coming back.

Best place we've ever stayed in Hawaii! If you are looking for a comfy, neighborhood experience in a cozy cottage that feels like home, this is it! The hosts, Julie and Montgomery are friendly and helpful. There are all sorts of aesthetically pleasing touches, like the live orchids. The porch is a delightful place to hang out and the beach is a short stroll away.

wonderful location-lovely cottage
Our time at Plantation Cottage was perfect. Short walk to Poipu Beach where the Sea Turtles we’re an endless source of joy. The cottage had everything we needed, including lots of very helpful fans. It was incredibly clean upon our arrival and the check-in process was very efficient. Quiet, relaxing mornings under the Monkeypod tree-what could be better?

comfortable cottage near the beach
We had a wonderful stay! Comfortable cottage with plenty of room for our family. The owner was attentive and offered suggestions for dining and activities. Great area, within very easy walking distance to Brennecke’s and Poipu beaches (saw lots of sea turtles and some monk seals!), and east driving distance to the rest of the island! Highly recommend!

we loved it!
The cottage was absolutely perfect for our needs, a family of four. Everyone had their own space. Very clean, very comfortable. It had every amenity we would need, beach chairs, towels, laundry soap, etc. We walked down to the beach every day.
We had a small hiccup in that the ice maker was broken and there were no ice trays, but a call to the management company fixed that almost immediately. It's true that the furniture on the lanai isn't what is in the pictures, but we didn't care. There are comfortable chairs and we sat out there every day.
I would absolutely reserve the cottage again, we loved it.

a wonderful place to experience kauai
If you want to experience Kauai as it was meant to be experienced make your reservations to stay at the Plantation Cottage. Wake up in the morning to have your coffee/breakfast (or drinks after a long day relaxing on the beach) on the front private porch enjoying the lovely foliage and birds surrounding you. No long sterile hallways or rooms looking all the same.
The cottage is rustic - in the best way. Its charm lay in its Hawaiian themed decor, location, and hosts. It had all we could need or want in the kitchen, fast Wi-Fi, an outdoor shower and off street parking (to name a few of the amenities). Also, you can walk to the beach (plenty of towels and other items for enjoying the beach) or restaurants, and additional restaurants and shopping were only a short drive away. It didn't have AC but with many windows and ceiling fans we were never hot despite the 80 degree temperatures.
Our hosts, Julie and Yuri, were lovely. They greeted us when we arrived and made sure that we knew where everything was and answered all our questions.

beautiful home and gorgeous views
The rental was gorgeous and provided everything anyone would need such as cooking oil, a blender, and sunscreen. The house was a minute walk away from Brennecke’s beach and the sounds of birds in the trees made the house feel like paradise. I can’t wait to visit again.

The Plantation Cottage was clean and comfortable with a great location close to the beach and Brennecke's Beach Broiler restaurant. We enjoyed the lanai and grill which we used a few times. Just a great little place. Would definitely go back.

Wow! Such a cute cottage and bigger than I expected. Really clean, really close to the beach. Plenty of fans to move the air. No AC, but it’s not really necessary. Nicely equipped kitchen, laundry and outdoor shower. Beds are comfy. My husband and I stayed here and we had a room for us, another for my mother, and a cute little room for our teen daughter. Really nice for a family.

we loved this location!
We had never been on Kauai before, but I'm pretty sure this is the paradise experience for a family with teens and college-age kids. Fabulous boogie boarding, adequate-plus snorkeling, lots of opportunity to see green sea turtles. The owner, Montgomery, was so welcoming and helpful. He gave us some easy-to-master, close-by recommendations for good food, shopping and recreation. I would recommend this property to anybody I know! I would tell them they would be crazy to stay anyplace else!

incredibly beautiful stay
We had truly the most magical stay. Walkable in the area, great happy hour up the street, a gorgeous house- beautiful outdoor shower. Snorkeled and boogie boarded, great gear provided. Lucky enough to meet the wonderful owner who provided us with fruit from his garden and was just so lovely. Thank you Montgomery! We will be back, hopefully one day as neighbors!

hidden gem
Our family of 5 recently stayed at the Plantation Cottage and it fit our needs perfectly. It was a quaint little house sitting on a beautiful property a stone's throw from the ocean and dining but tucked away so it was quiet (except for our kids!) and private. The owner stopped by to say hello and make sure we settled in and then gave us some bananas from his tree, which were so delicious. We barely bothered with the indoor shower, preferring to use the outdoor shower. It had every convenience we needed (hairdryer, washer/dryer, plenty of towels, boogie board, etc.) and was a perfect place for us to rest and relax after an activity-filled day. We would definitely stay there again!
