nine days in paradise
We stayed at Pali Ke Kia #214 for nine wonderful days. The view is amazing, and the sounds of the ocean mesmerizing. We were celebrating our 65th wedding anniversary and had done all of the “touristy” things on previous trips, so most of our time was spent relaxing and enjoying the view. The condo was comfortable and clean...although it could use some deep cleaning (cobwebs in the kitchen can lights.) Hideaway Pizza was delicious and we were glad to be able to walk over and pick up our dinner on two different nights. We hope to be able to return.

best view on kauai
Pali Ke Kua 214 has a fantastic view of Bali Hai and the nightly sunset, but that western view comes at a price: afternoons were fiercely hot. It was the only time we noticed the lack of AC.
We are lucky to be able to travel a lot, and this is the second time we've rented with Kauai Vacation Rentals. We've found them to be unusually accommodating, and everything always goes smoothly.
The one thing we noticed is that the area around the condo is much prettier and the landscaping much more verdant than the pictures give it credit for. We think Pali Ke Kua is the prettiest neighborhood in Princeville!

awesome vacation in pali ke kua #214
My wife and I throughly our 2 week stay in Pali Ke Kua 214. The views from the unit are spectacular. The unit is well-maintained with high quality furniture throughout. We have stayed at Pali Ke Kua many times and we are never disappointed. Having a second floor unit is wonderful as our views of the ocean and stunning Kauai sunsets are unimpeded.

an amazing stay!
Pali Ke Kua unit 214 was an awesome place to stay, and Kauai Vacation Rentals helped make our stay perfect. During our weeklong vacation my sister broke her knee cap, and KVR accommodated our mishap by allowing us a much later checkout than we had. The unit was equipped with all the comforts of home with a spectacular view.

the view never gets old
My wife and I have been lucky enough to return to Kauai year after year for almost thirty years running. We always stay in the Pali Ke Kua complex. The grounds are well kept and the property is pretty quiet.
The iconic view from unit #214 can’t be beat. After a late afternoon swim down at Hideaways Beach below the unit, we like to retreat to the lanai for a game of backgammon and a cold drink or two. Teams of paddlers often emerge from beyond the point during this time paddling multi-person canoes across the water just as the sun prepares to drop over the edge of the horizon. As the sun sets, the colors of the sky grow more and more vivid, bathing the mountains and ocean in the most dramatic light. It is quite the sight to behold and a memory that calls us to return again and again.
The property management is also very professional, prompt, and easy to communicate with. The unit is as advertised with everything one might need for a comfortable stay on the north shore. (AC would be nice but, to my knowledge, none of the units at Pali Ke Kua offer it as the old-school, early 1970s buildings are not set up for it.)

great location, needs a little tlc
Overall good experience. Great location and view, but we had to ask management for additional cleaning upon arrival when we saw several roaches in the kitchen and a used band aide in the shower. Initially, management was not very receptive to these concerns, telling us that roaches are expected in this environment. But later became they were more responsive and pleasant. There was no bath soap and only one roll of paper towels in the kitchen. Wish we'd known this before checking in. Otherwise,

good location
We always go to Maui and stay at the same condo, which is the best on the island in my opinion. So I was nervous trying Kauai and not knowing what type of place we'd get. Turns out we struck gold on the first try. This is a great location and prices are reasonable. Two minor complaints: 1) beach access is relatively far away (our Maui location is literally on the beach, so hard to compete); and 2) it is TERRIBLY inconvenient to have us return the keys to the rental office as opposed to just leaving in the unit--when you're trying to rush out and catch a flight home, you're not wanting to run errands beforehand. Regardless, we'd return here.

very nice rental with awesome views!
We saw beautiful sunsets right from our balcony. Although the condo was older, the views were well worth it. It is not air conditioned, but the cross-breeze kept the place comfortable, and we enjoyed waking up to the sound of birds chirping.

amazing view
We have rented Pali Ke Kua #214 from KVR three times now. We have also stayed in 2 other Pali Ke Kua units operated by KVR that face the ocean here, but this one has the best view. There is no A/C, but being from Florida, we find Hawaii to be much cooler anyway, sometimes even cold, but those from northern climes may have trouble with the temps, especially in summer. The beach access walkway has absolutely stunning views and the few people you come across down there on the beach make it somewhat surreal considering the normally crowded beaches elsewhere on the island. We will definitely be back.

Stunning place, but needs a deep cleaning. All of the kitchen handles were sticky and the toilet at the base had urine on it... Also it would be nice if they left more of the abandoned food including spices, cooking oil, sugar etc, stuff that does not go bad...

214 is a great unit
Unit 214 was a great unit for my family. The view is straight on beautiful ocean and Bali Hai view. Condo was nicely furnished. All appliances and fans were working. The only improvement would be figuring out how to put air conditioning in there. It was very hot especially upstairs even at night during Oct.

We have stayed in various condos at Pali Ke Kua for 12 differant times. I think this condo was the cleanest and most well equiped out of all of them -well done. I am looking forward to another visit in years to come and will use Kauai Vacation rentals for our trips.

Our 7 day Kauai vacation was wonderful. Our arrival and picking up our information from your office was the easiest ever experienced. Being after hours and so close to airport was our first plus. We arrived at our condo was more than pleased with location (view was exactly as pictures showed) and the newness and updated condo was perfect. We had everything and more supplied to us in the condo (Thank you for the bag and cooler full of goodies). Your communication between us even before arrival is one of the reasons we used your rental company again. It was a perfect vacation and a special thank you to the owners who rent this condo. You do a fantastic job of giving your guests all that they need

what a view!!
This unit was just as described. Spectacular view did not disappoint and we spent lots of time on the balcony soaking it in. The grounds are gorgeous and Hideaways Pizza was super convenient our first night. The beds were comfortable and the pillows were surprisingly very comfy. I usually have a hard time sleeping without my own pillow but not here. Kitchen was adequate enough for our needs but we didn’t cook any meals. The unit was spacious and plenty of room for 2 adult couples. It was a bit stuffy and humid without air conditioning, especially upstairs, but having the windows open and the fans going made it tolerable on the hotter nights. With the windows open, you do hear neighbors coming and going during late and early hours. It was very pleasant and soothing waking up to the real sounds of “birds in a rainforest”. The location was convenient to our activities in the north. Checking in and out was a breeze. We would definitely stay here again if we ever come back to Princeville.

a month in paradise
We have stayed at Pali Ki Kua several times in different condos and this time I was disappointed with cleanliness. My husband and I cleaned the condo when we got there and left it cleaner when we left then what it was when we came. I’m sorry to say this negative comment because we have always had a condo that for the most part was very clean. We were in the condo a month. We will be coming back to Pali Ki Kua because we love the lanai, view, and quietness. We have been extremely happy with Kauai Vacation Rental through the years.

beautiful view from a lovely condo!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this condo on the bluffs of Princeville! The view from the lanai is outstanding and we saw many a colorful sunset over the Na Pali coastal mountains.
The condo is very comfortable with a large sectional, well equipped kitchen and updated bathrooms. Furnishings are tasteful and simple. The location is very good, with many beaches within a short car drive and the local Foodland market close by as well. This was especially convenient as it's difficult to make restaurant reservations right now and the market has a good deli, so we often relied on it.
The weather was great while we were there, which was an added bonus! All in all, really enjoyed having this as our home base while we explored the North shore.

wonderful stay
The condominium was perfect. The ubication and quality of the place was great. The only negative thing could be the hot in the top floor because the fan wasn’t enough to cooler the 2nd bedroom upstairs. But I would return without hesitation because the place and the views make up for it.

fantastic stay in princeville
We had 5 wonderful days at this property. The pictures don’t do the views justice! The unit itself was very clean, the kitchen had everything we needed, bathrooms amazing, decor updated and the washer-dryer a plus. We were also pleased to find beach chairs and boogie boards! We never had to contact the rental company because everything worked perfectly! And they approved early check-in (we were coming from Poipu so already on the island) so that was nice!
The only down-side was the master bedroom upstairs got a little warm in the late afternoon, but there are ceiling and portable fans to use. To note: there is not much in the way of coffee/food/drink within walking distance (mostly rental properties/condos surround the property) but Princeville shopping center is about a mile away (this is where we did grocery and gift shopping) and Hanalei is close. If you have a rental car, shouldn’t be a problem. We ate at the pizza place on the property and would say it’s just ok. We wouldn’t eat there again but the bartender did make a nice mai-tai and pina colada! We’d return for those. :)
Overall, we had a wonderful stay and we’ll be back!

a wonderful north shore location
Watching the sun set every night from our deck, an upgraded kitchen and showers, and minutes from our favorite place - Hanalei(if you catch the convoy right!) - these are some things we loved about staying here. You will not get a better view anywhere else!

best views
This unit comes with stunning views - we had to make it back each night to catch the sunset from our balcony porch. Direct sun made late afternoons warm this May/June week, but strategic use of the two moveable fans kept things comfortable. Bed was very comfortable (only used the downstairs one). Ice maker was great, all the cooking supplies we needed except salt and pepper. Snorkeled every day at the convenient beach below. Used the jacuzzi once, nice way to end the day. We would return.
