amazing stay in kauai
We had an amazing time at the Pakala Plantation house. Our party of seven adults had plenty of space, and we cooked many delicious meals in the massive kitchen. We spent our early mornings and evenings hanging out on the comfy front porch furniture.

fantastic stay
Both the property and location are amazing . The Beach and estate grounds are fantastic . The house is what it's described as. It's old an full of charm . It reminds me of the old farm houses I grew up in . If you need granite counter tops and TV's in every room and modern everywhere this isn't for you . If you want an amazing property , great location and perfect house to spend time with family friends while sitting out on the most amazing deck I've ever seen , this is your spot .

pakala plantation paradise
This was my ohana’s second time staying at this beautiful plantation house on Pakala Bay in Kauai. There was a total of 11 of us (we paid the extra person charges) and we returned here because we were able to fit very comfortably in this house.
In September the mornings were cool, the afternoons and evenings were warm. This is your typical old beautiful plantation house with no air conditioning and we did use 100% of the fans provided in the evening to try to cool down to sleep.
The kitchen is large with all you need to make family meals. We enjoyed a family meal together every evening on the beautiful dining room. Again, the room. The dining table sat all of us comfortably.
Pakala beach is just across the lawn with a popular surf break. We were able to watch surfers every day and we enjoyed the ocean as well. The house did have plenty of beach items available including chairs and umbrellas but no surf boards.
Many memories have been made in this vacation rental. I hope to come back again with my ohana.

beautiful property
Amazing property and stay! Beautiful views and lovely beach. The house is large and equipped with several beds and bathrooms. Kitchen was well stocked with all the essential pots, pans, plates, and cups of all kinds. Plenty of fridge space with 2 available. Patio furniture and beach chairs allow for wonderful morning views of surfers and evening sunsets. Easy access to beach. Completely satisfied.

wonderful private beach house for our family trip!
We were awestruck by the night sky: there were more stars visible than I ever imagined and so bright! Loved the house also. It was private with beach view and access. It was large and had great character, we would have to stay another week to really know the house as we kept discovering new things until we left. We have wonderful memories of hanging out on the late covered porch enjoying the breeze and the birds of ocean and mountains. The heat with no AC was a change for us, but there were many fans and the house is designed to use the ocean breeze for cooling.

gorgeous, classic estate
We stayed for a week in April for a calm, quiet getaway at the estate. We were incredibly impressed by the historical significance, impeccable grounds, and quirky, spacious building. The true star of the property was the walking-distance proximity to the virtually private beach.
There are amazing gardens to explore on the property, in addition to dozens of chickens.
The one downside we experienced on several days was a significant bug issue. Certainly, the tropics should be expected to have mosquitoes, etc, but the volume of gnats was significant, day and night, likely due to the fruit trees. The property would benefit from a bug-zapper or having fly paper available for guests.

retreat in paradise
This was the most relaxing beautiful place to spend a week, well equipped view of a postcard, peaceful despite the roosters, and very private, plenty of space for a large group, comfortable, a true home from home in old fashioned style, would absolutely rent again

watching surfing and sunsets in paradise
Without a doubt, the best vacation house we have ever rented. So spacious for 6 adults and 2 kids, room for "I" time and together time, and best of all, hours watching the surfers and sunset from the front porch. The house is completely equipped with everything needed in the kitchen and everything was comfortable and clean. The beach is private but there are always several local expert surfers to watch.

hawaiian vacation
We stayed at Pakala Plantation for a week with our 4 teenage/young adult "children". This was the perfect house for everyone to spread out. We enjoyed many hours (and naps) on the porch. It's a bizarre yet wonderful house that clearly holds so many memories for generations past. I felt like I was staying in my grandmother's house...old can opener mounted to the kitchen wall and metal cabinets. Straight from a different era! The house was clean and comfortable. Could used some bathroom updates - but I expect that is difficult to accomplish on an island. There is no AC, and it did get to be a little hot - especially in the afternoons. Many fans are available and we had no trouble sleeping at night due to heat ("jungle fowl" are a different story). We loved watching the surfers and enjoyed the peacefulness and tranquility. Hope to come back again - certainly a very special home!

This rental is an absolute paradise! The house and the property are perfect! It is very spacious and private! The porch is the best spot to sit and relax and gaze at the beautiful ocean and scenery! We feel in love with this place and did not want to leave! The property managers were so helpful and accommodating! I would highly recommend this rental to everybody!

We loved our family stay at the beautiful plantation house, this was our families 3rd time staying here over several years. It could use a few upgrades as in a new grill, the caretakers of the property were very helpful if we needed anything. Great place to stay with a large family.

Perfect for our family-if you're looking for a place without crowds,enjoy making your own meals and eating in and like quiet ( not counting the infamous roosters) this is the spot. Family is already asking when we can go back.

best family reunion
it is easy to live in Paradise on the most beautiful property in Kauai. we all had a beautiful time from age 5 to 65. The beach is close enough to be a surfers paradise the longest left in all of Hawaii, and far enough that your little ones will not venture of on their own. shopping is easy and close. the Pakala Plantation is in the heart of Kauai with locals and natives alike. Not far from any convenience either. we all had a wonderful time. The house is very well equipped, clean, and easy to maintain.

We had an awesome time at the perfect spot to surf at Pakalas. The views, sounds and waves were all perfect. The home has a ton of space and definitely ideal for 2-3 families + a guest or two. We'll be back!
