Description

Hale Alealea Beach House with air conditioning is one house back from Kepuhi Beach. This home is situated on a large, private street-to-street lot in Haena's prime neighborhood made up of unique, well manicured beach front/adjacent homes. Our 15000 square foot yard is fully fenced, and mature plumeria trees grace the entrance to the house.

The professionally landscaped garden is full of flowering tropical plants, swaying coconut palms and banana trees. The beach is easily accessed by several walking easements, just a moment's stroll from the house along our gravel lane. Tunnels beach is only a 15-minute walk away. This house was fully renovated in 2014.

This bright and airy home offers two queen bedroom suites, plus two additional bedrooms with two twin beds each, making it a great house for one or two families or a vacation shared by friends. The main level of the house is upstairs and enjoys leafy framed views of the ocean and the trade breezes.

The kitchen is modern and fully appointed. The spacious wrap-around lanai features a gas grill and provides plenty of additional dining and lounging space.

At Kepuhi Beach, look to the left to see the kite boarders setting up at the point. You will love watching their colorful kites and daring acrobatics in the surf. To the right, find a calm lagoon with spectacular snorkeling and shelling. Continue your stroll to find the nearby Hanalei Colony Resort for morning coffee, or the terrific Opakapaka Grill and Bar for a sunset cocktail or a beachside massage at the Hanalei Day Spa.

Features of Hale Alealea: Four Bedrooms, two with queen size beds, and two with two twin beds each. Wireless high speed internet access. Spacious indoor and outdoor living areas for relaxing and entertaining. Expansive lanai with gas grill for seamless indoor-outdoor dining and lounging.

Haena is one of Kauai's true tropical treasures. Down the beach is Tunnels where the reefs are home to a variety of tropical fish and green sea turtles. You are a scenic 10-minute drive from historic Hanalei Village where you will find a wide variety of terrific restaurants and unique boutiques for shopping. I booked this house for my family and friends to celebrate a milestone birthday. The house was perfect to accommodate our size and needs. We had an infant and toddler and it was great! Plenty of space to run around and not too many things I was concerned with for baby proofing. We all had our own bathrooms and space which was nice. The house came equipped with beach towels, chairs, an umbrella and coolers. The washer and dryer were great and we used them daily. The location is of course perfect. Just steps from some of the best snorkeling on Kauai. Evenings were spent on the lanai and late at night the star gazing was out of this world. It’s such a magical place. I hope to have another chance to come back again.

We absolutely loved staying at Hale Alealea! The home was clean, welcoming and very comfortable. The grounds were lush and well cared for. We felt tucked away into our own private paradise. Check in/check out was super easy and we were well taken care of.

Highlights: The wrap-around porch was perfect for meals and relaxing. The home is charmingly decorated and has an authentic Hawaiian feel. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes/tools. We loved the outside shower and bbq. The home provided plenty of linens, bathroom supplies and beach towels. Proximity to Tunnels Beach was so special and we also loved walking across the street to the local shoreline, even though it wasn't suitable for swimming. The location is remote but that provides a lot of privacy and we enjoyed exploring the immediate area. The Waipa farmers market was really special!

Lowlights: A few things are a little rundown - the knob on the oven didn't work properly (you could tell it had been recently glued on) so we couldn't use the oven. But we were able to use the toaster oven so it wasn't a big enough deal to complain. One couch is very dirty and soiled so they have spread an old bed sheet over it. Seems like they should invest in a couch cover or some clean furniture. The listing didn't tell us that beach chairs, umbrellas and a cooler were provided, so we wasted money renting them from our car provider. This location is pretty remote so be prepared for lots of driving if you plan to explore the island.

All that said, we truly did have a lovely time at Hale Alealea and would stay there again in a hearbeat! Mahalo for sharing this charming home with my family. Aloha!

Overall very good, The house fit our needs perfectly with a great separate space. One problem was no windows in the back of the house so rain came in a lot making the two back bedrooms unusable. We had to sleep on the couch several nights and dry our clothes.

We were disappointed in the condition of the home. The location was lovely. Everything needs help and updating. When we arrived the downstairs shower had 2 old bandaids laying on the floor. Lighting is poor throughout , especially in the bedroom on the lower level. Furniture is crummy and our mattress poor. . Dishes and glassware are total random. The kitchen garbage disposal had random items in it that we had to remove. The outdoor furniture / cushions are old and in terrible shape. All the bathrooms need refurbishment. Toilet downstairs does not flush well and There are no ceiling fans in any of the 3 bathrooms. Finally there is a roof fan on the main floor that is VERY loud and turns on when at sunrise.
I am sorry but for the money we paid we expected much better.

We had a nice time and really appreciated working with Kauai vacation rentals. The house was well located and pretty well set up. My only comments and feedback are around some pieces of furniture - couches and dressers that seemed actually dirty and in rough shape for a nice house (orange couch in living room facing TV felt gross to sit on, dresser in two bedrooms was broken). If you were to replace a few of these dingier pieces of furniture and improve in house cleaning a bit, it would be really nice. I might also offer cleaning during the week for an additional price. We didn't have great weather but that's no one's fault.

Hale Alealea was an amazing spot. We were two families of four and had lots of space. The kitchen had everything you need with a great BBQ on the deck which also features a great dining area. Haena Beach was a very short drive, not too bad to walk if you wanted to. Likewise, a very quick jaunt to Hanalei. Very quiet neighbourhood (except for the roosters!). Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

We were: grandparents, single male adult son (43), daughter (41) with spouse and 2 year old.
This house was exceptional for its space, layout, bathrooms, use of beach chairs, outdoor water spigots for washing off sand, proximity to beach, quiet neighborhood, relaxing and welcoming atmosphere. LOVED having washer/dryer, large veranda for dinners, great kitchen. We had a week's worth of meals inside (except one dinner), and had everything we needed. Local fish market provided us with great selections. We recommend this to any family group.

2 minute walk to the beach, kitchen and dining areas work well for small or large groups, comfortable, relaxing and easy maintenance, washer dryer are very good. Plenty of beach towels and beach chairs. Boogie boards included.

The home was perfect for our needs during our stay. The kitchen had all the basics that you would need to cook meals. The beach was a short walk away and very convenient. The management company was very accommodating when we needed a late check out. Loved our time there.

Hale Alealea is in my favorite neighborhood In all the world...In Haena, on the north shore of Kauai. This was my third visit to the house. It’s spacious, clean, and well equipped, only a block from the beach and two blocks from a good restaurant. Flowers and soft tropical air abound. A minus for some didn’t apply to me...I had no trouble sleeping through the roosters but a light sleeper might be perturbed when they go off at 4 AM.

The house is wonderful and we had everything we needed. We immediately felt at home. There is plenty of room to hang out. The grounds are lovely large and private. Loved the outdoor shower. The location is perfect, just a short walk to the beach and if you want a massage, go see Lana down the street.

This property was perfect for our family. They had everything we needed and we were less than a block from the beach.

My kids were able to go out and fish every morning and every evening while I packed for the day and while I cooked dinner.

They were in heaven and so was I!

This rental was the perfect house for our group of 8. The house was incredibly clean and well stocked in every way. The fans were a perfect addition for the warmer nights. The outdoor eating area was perfect for family dinners. The location was perfect and we enjoyed walking to the beach for the beautiful sunrise. A perfect home in paradise!

Loved the house! We especially enjoyed the beaches and snorkeling just across from the property. Morning coffee and lazy afternoon relaxing in the Adirondack chairs and candlelight dinners outside will unwind you quickly. The house was clean and beautiful with a great kitchen and grill. Stop by Costco on your way in and pick up shrimp and steak for dinner on the outside porch. Some of the best snorkeling on the island is right across the street.

What a beautiful home for our first ever family vacation to Kauai. We were so pleased to find such a lovely home in a great location- close enough to restaurants and stores but out of the way of crowds. The furniture was comfy and the grounds couldn't have been more delightful. Everything worked like a charm and allowed us to really unwind and relax. I hope we can visit this amazing home again soon!
