Great location and wonderful home. The only complaint I have (and this is no fault of the property) are the relentless, loud roosters who start crowing at 3 am. Maybe they can chase them somewhere else because it's very hard to sleep--even with earplugs you can still hear them. So I highly recommend if you are a very sound sleeper! lol

Overall this property was wonderful. It accommodated the 4 of us quite well.
U may not be able to do anything about this however the pocket door to the bathroom was quite noisy.
Personally, one of the bedrooms could use a mirror above the dresser.

perfect stay in kauai
This home was perfect in every way. The layout was ideal for us and our two adult sons. The house was spotless and very well maintained. The furniture and beds were high quality and extremely comfortable. Kitchen is well equipped for serious cooking. We were drawn to the house for its incredible views, and they did not disappoint! We rented bikes for our stay, for quick and easy trips to Tunnels Beach, where we swam with turtles, saw monk seals resting on the beach and viewed beautiful sunsets. The property managers were outstanding... friendly and prompt with all communications before, during and after our trip. When we notified them of a small problem with one of the windows, they addressed it immediately. The owners leave a personal note, and recommendations for things to do and places to eat on the island, which we found very helpful. We hope to return to this home again and again!

perfect location
Vacation home offered the perfect location on the North shore with stunning mountain views! House was clean and the interior was as shown in the listing. We enjoyed having two lanais to chose from based on the breeze/sun location and spent a good portion of our time (when at the rental) on the lanai. As is typical for the area, the home does not have A/C, but the owner provided plenty of fans to help cool the house. With the exception of a couple nights during our stay, we found the house sufficiently cool in the evening.
Areas of Improvement:
1) The listing needs to be updated to show that a new house is being built (very close) to the lanai on the mountain side of the home. Construction during our stay was mildly disruptive, but once complete, the home will lose some of it's privacy on the lanai with the best views.
2) Rental provided body soap, but no shampoo/conditioner. Coffee filters are provided, but no coffee. In my opinion, home rentals should provide the same basic amenities as hotels. If they are not provided, the listing should clearly state what is provided, so guests are not caught off guard upon arrival.
3) Beach Access - the beach that is a short walk is very rocky and not swimmable. The listing is a little misleading in that regard. That being said, if you walk 0.25 mile further in either direction, you can find swimmable beaches (probably still not safe for small children) and Tunnels beach is 0.7 miles walk/drive.
4) Cookware. Skillets and pots are in need of replacement. Otherwise, the kitchen is well stocked. We cooked most of our meals at the house.
5) Please note, this property is past the Hanalei bridge, which can close due to flooding (and did during out stay) leaving you stuck in the Hanalei/Haena area. Almost all restaurants were closed as employees could not reach the businesses.
Overall, this is a wonderful choice if staying on the North shore and with a few minor improvements/clarific

An update on the issues that you listed: As of October, the exterior house construction is complete and owner is living in the house completed the interior details. His house is located on the rear of the property so none of the mountain views from Haena Sunrise are compromised. The skillets and pots have all been replaced by Kauai Vacation Rentals. location
The house was perfectly set up for our family of 5, very clean and kitchen had everything we needed. A drip coffee maker with provided filters & necessary household supplies provided was so nice- I have been to many VRBO’s that didn’t provide any and this was a nice touch (dish washer & laundry soap, new bar soap for each shower along with plenty of hand soap). The house was very hot during the day, but cools off for comfortable sleep once the sunsets. The beach chairs & small float could be replaced, they are very worn down & straps all broken. We all agreed the location of the house on the island was perfect, being so far on the north west part of the island, you are surrounded by beauty. The path to the beach is steps from the door and leads to a rocky section of sandy beach, but If you walk 100 yards to the left you are on a wonderful relaxing part of kepuhi beach. We spent a lot of time at this location! The sunset views are perfect with the Mountain View. The only downside we found was that it is a bit far from dining options. We did eat dinner the last night just down the road at Opakapaka bar and grill and wish we ate there more often. On the water , local feel and good food! The roosters are everywhere on the island! You get used to them after a few nights ��.

incredible views and great beaches
The views on the front porch are incredible and the snorkeling at tunnels beach was phenomenal, even saw a seal on the beach. The house is beautiful, loved the outdoor shower!! The house has big open windows but the landscaping provides total privacy. Loved staying there!

a dream christmas getaway
We went to Haena Sunrise with our daughter and in- laws to help them celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on the island they were married on . The house was absolutely everything we were hoping for from the description- spacious, airy, close to beach, quiet and gorgeous views. haena sunrise just perfect
We loved the remote feeling, the towering mountains to the west and the roar of the ocean at night. The house was large, comfortable and had everything we needed. The walk to the ocean was very easy and the proximity to Haena Beach and the Dry Cave was great. And also, Hanalei Town was so close. It felt like a real “Hawaiian experience “ and it was.

great location, size and views
We totally appreciated and enjoyed our stay at Haena Sunrise. The house is spacious, has great deck areas with wonderful views of the Mountains & surrounding neighborhood. Beach access is via the neighboring easement which is close and easy. Our favorite beach Tunnels is close-by. For privacy there is good separation between bedroom wings and open living areas.

paradise found!
WE DIDN'T WANT TO LEAVE!!! This beautiful home provides every comfort to make your stay feel as if this was your own home. Even better than the photos! Incredibly clean (I'm very picky): looks like a new coat of paint on everything! Clean, freshly-laundered sheets, comfortable beds, plenty of house fans to help the cool island breezes, house alarm, door codes so you don't have to worry about a key, beautiful path to the beach...I could go on and on. Like I said, we didn't want to leave. The owners and rental company have made every effort to ensure you forget about everything except enjoying this beautiful home on the beautiful island of Kauai. The rental agency was quick to respond to our questions and just a phone call away. Very impressed!
We stayed in Princeville in 2018 and because of the immense flooding that year were not able to get over to this part of the island. I am SO glad we stayed in Haena. Even though it is a little farther, the one-lane bridges, the horse that grazes by the side of the bridge, the curving road along the coast, the little shop that opens at 10-ish and closes at 7-ish all result in a very quaint, relaxing and tropical feel. We walked to a local coffee shop every morning and sat watching the waves crash against the lava rock. Simply breathtaking! Just writing this makes me wish I was still there!

paradise
This is an idealic home in paradise. It was perfect for my family of 4 plus my parents when visiting the North Shore. The views are amazing and the house is spacious with multiple sitting areas inside and outside. The crosswinds and ceiling fans keep the home cool and there are additional fans if needed. Sitting on the oceanside lanai in the afternoon provided a really nice breeze. The house was equipped with everything we needed for meals at home including a grill on the lanai. I can't wait to return to the North Shore and this beautiful home.

hang out on the lanais and relax
This is a great location with gorgeous views from both lanais. It was fun to change lanais according to the weather and the time of day. Roomy kitchen for a group to cook in with plenty of kitchen wares. We LOVED the outdoor shower with adjustable temperature for the water! Many windows and fans made for a great view and temperature in the house with lots of air circulation. The beds were very comfortable. There were plenty of towels for inside the house and chairs and towels for the beach. TV complete with apps for streaming, and great bluetooth speaker system. We appreciated the coupons and suggestions in the notebook at the house. It was helpful to call the vacation rental company to find out what was available in the kitchen. We highly recommend a walk to the public access beach off of Alamoo and Alealea. Great for snorkeling with lots of tropical fish and a few sea turtles. Walkable from the house with chairs, Kepuhi Beach. Lovely place, lovely stay.

This is a great house as described on website. Pictures accurate. About a block from the beach. Owners have taken very good care of house. Well maintained and up to date. Enjoyed the back porch.
Just FYI...this house is in a residential neighborhood and does have very close neighbors that a driveway is shared. From porch literally looks down into someone else’s house and yard. Not that this is a con, but something to keep in mind of you are wanting a house with privacy. Also, the closest beach is not really useable. To get to the sandy area requires walking to the beach and then about a quarter mile up to the sandy area. Again also something to keep in mind if you are wanting to be close to a sandy beach.

The driveway is shared by mandate of the County of Kauai so that our house, which is farthest from the road, and the neighbor’s house only have one exit onto the highway. The Panax hedge on the property line does provide some visual barrier between our house and the neighbor’s house which you can still see. The closest beach to the house is like many of the beaches on Kauai in that it is made from fragmented corral coming onto the beach from the off-shore reefs. we love heana sunrise!
We really enjoyed our stay at Heana Sunrise. It was our second time staying there. It's our favorite area to stay on Kauai. It has beautiful mountains views all around and is close to the beaches and to Hanalei. The home was clean and the owners left us a few treats and gift certificates to places to eat. Very thoughtful! a great family place

Our stay at Haena Sunrise was perfect! The house was beautiful with lanai’s on both sides. The house had every detail covered. The north shore of Kauai is quite possibly the most beautiful place on earth and being able to walk two minutes to the beach was amazing! As a group we were amazed at the level of detail of the house, all the little things that make it extra special were there. pure paradise

final week on kauai
My wife and I decided to spend the last of our 3 weeks in Hawaii at Haena Sunrise with our daughter and her family. We found the property to be clean, spacious and well equipped. We very much enjoyed our stay. A special shout out to Alicia who was great at getting us an early check in and late check out. A couple of negatives however- This property is literally at the end of the road-15 minutes from anywhere and much more to the main attractions on the island. The beach is a rock shelf-cool to walk on and explore but not for swimming. Lastly, the neighbors are close and had a loud outdoor party until 3 AM the last night we were there. Regardless, we had a great time and are glad we chose to stay there.

Large, functional kitchen. two great decks/outdoor space outside each of the bedrooms too. even closer to the beach than we realized. perfect location for accessing Napali Coast hiking trails, north shore beaches, Hanalei, and Kilauea. It is far from Waimea Canyon area and west coast beaches, and that drive has a lot of traffic. Our only suggestion for the house would be updated bedding / new sheets for the master bedroom.

Great house. Decks on both sides, a nice breeze when you open the doors and windows, nice amenities in the house. We had two couples and really enjoyed our stay. The house is a short walk to the beach (not a great beach as it's mainly coral) but you can walk a small distance to get to a beach where you can actually relax on the sand. Great views, close to the Napoli Coast and Tunnels beach. About 15 minutes from Hanalei Bay.

We had three couples stay at this property. The house is located near the top/northern most part of the island. It is perfect if your goal is relaxation and easy access to beaches and hiking. Hanalei is an easy and pretty 15-17 minute drive for small groceries, restaurants, shopping, etc. We enjoyed this property because it was a little further out and planned our activities in the south as it is a two hour plus drive to hike in the canyon or go to Poipu etc. The outdoor shower was great and made it easy for post beach pre dinner clean up. Well stocked kitchen and great lanai you enjoy.

We had a great time at this vacation rental. The house was even better than the pictures. It was a short walk to Tunnels beach to hang out for the day and a short drive into Hanalei for eating options. It was the perfect location. We used both of the lanais every day. It was a great vacation rental for a nice relaxing trip.

wonderful home in haena!
We loved our stay at Haena Sunrise! We booked the home the day of the avalanche in 2021, nervous about how that would work out staying north of it, and also nervous as there were no post pandemic reviews of the home. Thankfully we were overwhelmingly pleased by everything about the house! We were three couples and each room is soundproofed from the great room. The beds are super comfortable, the kitchen is nicely appointed, the views from the decks are out of this world. We often walked to Tunnels, using the provided beach chairs, and watched sunsets from our very close beach, as well as Ke'e and Kahalahala Beach (our favorite). The convoy made the traffic minimal during the week (in an already quiet area), so we think it was ultimately a blessing, even though we had to plan timing for leaving and returning to the north shore. The owners went above and beyond for us, offering a cleaning mid-stay since we were there two weeks, and gifting us with coupons as well as flowers and wine. The house is spotless and great care has gone into all of the details. We highly recommend and would definitely come back.

superb & enchanting
Haena sunrise house, a mere short walk to a gorgeous beach, was everything we were hoping for our vacation. With amenities galore, Haena sunrise offers guests comfort and tranquility amidst the inspiring splendor that the north coast of Kauai offers. loved it!
We loved our stay at Haena Sunrise. The location wad amazing, near the end of the road. We could walk down to the ocean in a few minutes to a beautiful beach to see the sunset, get wet, or just relax by the waves. The house was great, nicely maintained and pleasing to be in. Beautiful views of the mountains. Everyone I talked to at the company was super nice and helpful. Our only disappointment was the TV situation. One remote didn’t work and we couldn’t stream anything on the main TV. Other than that it was a perfect stay. We would be back in a heartbeat
