Was looking for an air conditioned beach view condo with two rooms and Prince Kuhio 401 fit the bill. The unit, while older has clearly been upgraded and modernized with everything my son and I needed for a wonderful 8 days in Poipu.

Having a working, quiet air conditioner really allowed us to enjoy our time in the unit (Kauai is not cool nor dry in June).

The property managers were great when notified of two relatively minor issues addressing them in a timely fashion.

We vacation in Hawaii every other year (mostly in Kauai) this was the first time I’ve used a vacation rental agency to find a place to stay. The pictures make this unit appear much better than it is in person. The space is large, easy to walk to the Beach House restaurant, shopping centers and beach, includes washer/dryer and a mostly fully equipped kitchen but it’s in much need of updating, deep cleaning, new paint and vinyl that is peeling on the bathroom drawers (well kept older building, nice grounds and pool) the view directly across the street is blocked by another building (not shown in photos) beach view is to the left and right of that building. Sliding glass doors don’t lock easily, same with the screens that easily blow open with the wind if not locked. Older dirty windows, crank broken on shower window, vent doesn’t work, had to use the kitchen table to use hair dryer and put make up on after showering, too hot to stay in there. Light switch turn on the ceiling fans, you’ll have to find the lamp in the dark to turn on a light in the bedrooms. Unit located on busy noisy road, no amenities at the pool including a bathroom. Overall we loved our trip but we wouldn’t stay here again. We had to call maintenance, the property manager showed up, she was very nice to work with, she got the answers to our questions but it didn’t help with the vent problem as the owner told her it didn’t work.

This condo was perfect and I would go again anytime but would stay longer. Super Clean. The patio had the best views all around. It was quite windy so we were unable to sit out there much. All the sliding doors to outside was perfect for airflow. Air conditioner worked well and unit was very functional. There is a need for a spatula as there was only a small one in the drawer. Also a rubber spatula, whisk, and a larger frying pan would be good. Scizzors need replaced. And darker drapes behind the couch are needed. Can't see the tv in the daytime due to the glare. GREAT: washer and dryer, lots of towels and washcloths, BEDS were amazingly was a comfortable, relaxing, chillout place to stay and we were not disappointed. Just very sad we had to leave. We have been to Kauai many times over 15 years and this penthouse was the best. Conveniently located in Poipu, just a walk across the street to beaches with our favorite snorkeling spots. Just a walk up the hill to stores, restaurants and gift shops. A wonderful, crystal clean pool on the property and the convenience of laundry in the penthouse made this location a one stop stay. Views of the Sunrise, Sunset, whales jumping out at sea; the sound of waves coming to shore to lull you to sleep each night, we have never found another condo that gave you all of this as Prince Kuhio 401 does. It also offers optimal privacy as you are on the top floor with your own lanai. We will be back next year!! Thank you, Pam for sharing your beautiful place.

Prince Kuhio 401 is a beautiful penthouse condo! We enjoyed the easy check in, then awoke to the beautiful sunrise over the ocean, easily viewed from the very large lanai. The lanai has lounge chairs, two tables each with four chairs, and a view of sunsets. Sunrise to sunset was gorgeous. The property has 2 boogie boards, beach chairs, with umbrellas and flippers available to use at any of the beaches close by. Kauai Vacation Rentals was easy to work with, and Pam the owner was the very best even letting us extend our stay as our return flight home was canceled. The beds in each bedroom are very comfortable. Both rooms have doors that open to the lanai. Living room is roomy and comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you’ll need to cook or use the property BBQ’s. Everything was very clean and tastefully decorated. The location is an easy walk to restaurants, shopping, beach, and even the botanical garden. The property has lush greenery, blooming orchids and a nice pool area. Excellent choice for the Poipu area of Kauai.
