great location for a family trip
Place was clean and super convenient located just a short walk to the Hyatt and several beaches. Owner was easy to work with and the neighbors were super friendly. I would recommend.

perfect stay
We loved our stay at Shells. Amazing location, just a short walk to Shipwreck Beach. The house was just perfect, and came so well appointed. The house had everything we needed and more (including spices to cook with!). Any question I had prior to our trip was answered quickly and warmly. The neighbors were also so friendly, sharing their tomatoes with my daughter and checking on us. An incredible stay, would not hesitate to book this home again, it was hard to leave. Mahalo!!

great place in a spectacular location
For a short term rental, this felt more like staying in a home. Very well stocked from the kitchen to beach activities to games and books. Spotless. Walkable on the path behind the house to the pool (a little further away than expected) or beach or restaurants. Would definitely recommend.

a week at the shells
Superb home! Short walk to the pool, hot tub center. Clean, well-maintained home. Great outside seating area. Close to Poipu Beach and Koloa Town. Loved our stay!

lovely home and a great fit for our 3 generation family vacation
We were all happy and comfortable with the home. The kitchen was well-stocked with all the equipment, dishes, etc, we needed for meal prep.
The boogie boards, beach chairs, beach towels, and carrying cart were a big plus. The walk to the pool was a little longer than I would have liked, and it took us a while to find it. (It's located behind Kalapaki Joe's Restaurant) But the pool and hot tub were both clean, and the kids really enjoyed them. The house was also stocked with a great variety of books, DVDs, and games.
The outside BBQ/lanai area was comfortable and a wonderful hangout spot. Would highly recommend Kauai Vacation Rentals.

sweet rest
It was as a sweet sweet rest. The house was clean and well provisioned. The windows made it feel so open. The green belt adjacent to the back was great for strolls. The short walk to the pool got us there every day. Loved the MWF aerobic class there. I would go back in a heartbeat.

perfect house in poipu
The house was perfect. The location was amazing and centrally located for all island activities. Beach was less than 5 minute walk. The house was well maintained and full of all the essentials and more. The management staff was ready to help with any and all questions or requests. The house was perfect and made the vacation easy and comfortable.

family paradise in poipu
We stayed ten days with our two teenagers and their grandparents and found our rental home to be perfect for a group of 6! The house was bright and breezy and in an optimal location on the Poipu Kai green belt, close to the Grand Hyatt and beach trails as well as within walking distance to Brennecke’s beach for sunset and beach time. We enjoyed the Poipu Kai pool as well. The unit was well stocked with chairs, beach toys, coolers and lots of games and books too! The only disappointment for us was that one of the bedrooms stated it had a queen bed however it was only a full and was too short for my husband’s comfort. It was a small room so I doubt a queen would have fit. Still we had an overall pleasant stay and would highly recommend and consider a return to this lovely little Poipu Shells home!

Shells at Poipu was lovely. The house was in a nice neighborhood and it was clean and spacious. There was everything you need for your stay from kitchen appliances to loads of beach towels.We couldn't have asked for a better home away from home. The only drawback was that we couldn't find the shared pool. There was nothing in the house to tell us where to go. We took off looking for it one day and tried the key in 6 different pools before calling the office to locate the pool. We were given verbal instructions how to get there from a woman who didn't really know where the pool was located. Finally after over an hour of looking we found it. That could have easily have been avoided by having a map at the house.

bright, quiet and relaxing
House was bright with lots of windows. AC was a necessity for us and worked great. Location was awesome- we walked to Shipwreck beach for tide pools and short drive to Poipu Beach Park for swimming (walk was too far for the kids age 8 and 10- had tears the day we tried). Made use of the beach supplies in the garage (chairs, boogie boards mostly but there was a wagon, big coolers, umbrella was missing a pin). Pool and jacuzzi was down the path a ways and was good for an afternoon. The green belt path was really nice to walk in the mornings with banana trees and flowering plants. We did lots of cooking and baking- not much in terms of spices, staples, but that always varies on what people leave behind and what gets thrown away. Kitchen tools were in decent shape. Knives were sharp and pans were nice quality. Neighbors were so very sweet and let the kids feed lizards! House was super quiet!! No roosters, no loud talking, no loud parties. I wish the house was cleaner- it could definitely use a deep cleaning (wiping down drawer/sink handles/towel racks, removal of decor that catches dust) and refreshed bath towels. Bathrooms really need updating but did the job. Master bed was comfortable. Washer/dryer was put to use and worked well.

The reviews with stars paint a very positive experience. The house is at an amazing location...two minutes walk to an amazing beach. House was fine, one bedroom is a little tight, but that's okay. Kauai Vacation Rentals really stood out on this trip as my wife broke her leg on a biking trip. They were very helpful and accommodating, which helped make a bad situation not nearly so bad. They really took care of us.

Lovely home is a beautiful, convenient neighborhood. House was spacious and bright. Kitchen was great and had everything needed for preparing meals in the home. The house was very clean, beds were comfortable, and it was well supplied. We would lone to rent this home again. The property company was great to work with.

great vacation spot
Had a great time. Loved the location on the house. House had chairs and cooler for the beach. Very nice and clean. Neighbor was a delight. The windows in the kitchen were so nice to be able to enjoy the view.
