Description

"Puanani," Hawaiian for beautiful flower, is a Hawaiian-style family home located at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac within easy walking distance of Hanalei Bay and town. A large yard with plumeria, hibiscus, night-blooming jasmine and a lush garden with melodic songbirds can be enjoyed from the front and back covered lanais. Decorated with wicker and bamboo furniture and designed with open beam ceilings and natural cedar walls, the house has a spacious, comfortable feeling.

The crescent beach of Hanalei Bay is a short walk away for sunbathing, beach combing, seasonal swimming and spectacular sunsets. Take a stroll down the beach to the historic Hanalei pier to enjoy stunning views of the surrounding mountains and waterfalls.

Another short walk brings you to the quaint town of Hanalei, where numerous shops and restaurants are located along with a market and post office. While exploring this historic town, sample local favorites, shaved ice and smoothies.

Other north shore activities include snorkeling, scuba diving, surfing, windsurfing, hiking, horseback riding, tennis and golf.

We loved staying here! This was our third time staying in a property managed by KVRE and they have all been well kept well managed. This home was in really good shape, the stove was newer than the photos and it was a really enjoyable home base for our week in Hanalei.

It's a nice area quite and close to the beach. But noise insolation was bad because of the jalousie type of windows. Overall experience (after the rooster was relocated) was good!!!

The house was exactly what we needed. We never used the tv, so didn't have any issues with sound, which it seems like other visitors have had with the neighbors. The neighbor did ask for us to turn off a porch light but she was perfectly nice about it.

The house is lovely, in a typical Hawaiian style. It is in a great location in Hanalei - a couple blocks to the shops and the beach and has a very nice garden and deck area.
The neighborhood is a bit of a challenge however owing to the complete lack of soundproofing. Quiet time is mentioned but this includes INSIDE the home too. Forget watching TV after dinner for which we were visited, yelled and swore at. I enjoyed a similar experience a couple days later (without the visit) for talking too loudly while doing the dishes at 8 20 in the evening.
Bring a good book. Go to bed at 8pm. Talk to no-one for the remainder of the night and you'll be fine.
It is a house I would have gladly returned to but NOT in the current environment - nor will I be encouraging friends and family to go.

We loved our stay at Puanani House. The common areas are spacious, tho the bedrooms are small. I especially loved the outdoor shower daytime under tall Royal palms and night under the stars.
The location is perfect within walking distance to the beach and to town.

Puanani is a great little house in a fantastic location just a couple of blocks off the Hanalei strip of shops and restaurants on a quiet cul de sac (save for the 5 AM roosters). It was perfect for our family of four (our adult children shared the room with twin beds, I and my wife slept in the master bedroom). The house has two bedrooms, two bathrooms indoors, plus an outdoor shower. The electric range was fine, even for a gas snob like myself, and there's a large gas grill. Outdoor table on the deck makes for pleasant meals. Washer/Dryer and 4 beach chairs and umbrella were on site, a nice bonus. No AC and no dishwasher, but we were never hot (in April temps peaked at around 80). If you are looking for luxury, Puanani is not for you. But if you are looking to live comfortably "like a local" for a few days in the best part of the island, I highly recommend.

We absolutely loved our stay! The place was perfect for the two of us and had everything we needed. Fully stocked kitchen for cooking in, chairs and umbrella for the beach and a great outdoor shower. Easy stroll into town or to the beach. I might recommend some new furniture for the lanai but this place is still a gem! Can’t wait to come back!

We fell in love with Hale Puanani the moment we drove up to it. The grounds are beautiful and filled with exotic flowers. The inside feels like home from the first moment.
Hale Puanani was well equipped with everything we needed and more. We appreciated its comfort and old Hawaii decor. I chose it for its location so close to both town and the beach. My granddaughters explored both in safety and delight.

This home is located perfectly between Hanalei Bay and town. You can be at either location in a two minute walk. The house is a little rustic but was the perfect get away for myself and a friend. No need for a car with the proximity to all that Hanalei has to offer. I would stay here again.

Puanani is a wonderful beach house. It's a short walk to the beach, on a super quiet and peaceful side street in the most picturesque town in Hawaii.

Mixed opinion about the property.

The good:
- central location in Hanalei while being in a very quiet area
- in walking distance to beach and town
- wonderful outdoor area
- clean

The not-so-good:
- very outdated interior (price-value not balanced)
- not well-insulated from outside noise (be prepared to wake up every day by 3 am thanks to the roosters that live outside)
- neighbor complaining about noise from watching TV at reasonable volume in a rather rude way. We are seasoned travelers and very respectful towards locals wherever we go but this made us feel unwelcome. On the bright side another neighbor stopped by the next morning and apologized for her.
- communication from rental agency was a bit too much - too many follow ups and reminders including download of unnecessary app
- check in process very outdated where you have to pick up and drop off keys at actual agency office

We loved this little house. Perfect vibe, and location, we absolutely cherished the garden. The furniture could be more comfortable, and it would have been nice to have shampoo and conditioner there when we arrived, but other than that, it was just PERFECT! The chickens will wake you up around 3,4,5,6, sometimes 1 am, but that's part of country living. This place is a GEM, and we will be back!! MAHALO!!

I could not figure out why so many cars coming to the end of the street and then turning into driveway. I would recommend a chain or rope across the driveway. Others before me have commented on this as well. They make a lot of noise turning on the gravel. Wondered if it is intentional.

We have had an amazing time at Hanalei Bay. Your house is lovely and has everything we need. We feel warmly welcomed.

The neighbors are also great. We walk everywhere, great location.

We absolutely adored everything about our stay at Puanani house. It was immaculate and comfortable in every way. The location was perfect - we could walk to the beach or town in minutes, but had a sense of quiet and peace away from the crowds. The kitchen was well set up and the grill very good, so we cooked in several times. Despite the rainy week it was a joy to be there. Reading on the lanai with the mountains moving in and out of the clouds was the perfect way to get out of the rain. I can't wait to come back.

We loved that it was a lovely, low key bungalow on a quiet street and near the beach & town. The garden was amazing. Also the BBQ was excellent. Comfy beds & cool breezes, lovely mountain views. So relaxing.

So organized! The little things: good quality toilet paper! Beach umbrella, cold packs in freezer! And the outdoor shower! The deck is 1st class! Lovely garden view.

Perfect location to explore the north shore.The house was very comfortable and in a quiet cul de sac. We loved sleepy breakfasts on the deck watching and listening to the birds. Great garden.

The size and style of the home suited our needs perfectly. Within walking distance of the beach as well as the shops. Fully equipped kitchen, beach towels, chairs, etc. We didn't need to bring or buy anything. Wifi made life very easy. Our experience with the house and your agency was 100% positive. We will definitely recommend KVR to all our friends!
