The condo was very clean and well equipped. Everything the average person could possibly need – all the kitchen needs plus the beach needs - snorkeling equipment, beach chairs, cooler, towels, etc. The roosters are loud on this island and so I asked for a box fan. Within hours, I had a box fan to mute out the roosters while sleeping. The view is wonderful, the path has great access to the local shops and everyone was friendly. The one drawback was the tractor lift was used on the first day of our stay and never used/removed from our lanai view the remaining of the stay. Overall, worth your stay if you are coming to this island.

Love our stay here! The property is clean, and the kitchen is well stocked up. Wonderful beach view. This unit is on 2nd floor/top floor at the corner of the building. It has many beach chairs, 2 beach umbrellas and more beach stuffs when we were there. We walked to plenty of cute stores, restaurants and biked on the bike path. Property management (kauai vac rental) is also very friendly and responsive. There’s always someone picking up the phone or texting us back when we had questions. We had left something and remembered it a day after we got home and called them. They were able to ship it back to us!

It was great experience for us fam of 4. Home has its all stuff we need. We feel home and experience relaxing time together. Providing shampoo and conditioner could have been nice but overall it was a wonderful stay.

pono kai rental review
We had an amazing experience staying at Pono Kai! The condo was spacious, well equipped and clean. Our unit had a beautiful view of the ocean, which we took full advantage of. The onsite gym wasn't great, but I made the most of it. Parking was adequate, plenty of shopping and restaurants within walking distance and lots of beautiful beaches just a short drive from the property. We had a great time and would come back and stay here again in the future!

great location, beautiful view
We wanted to explore all of Kaua’i and this beautiful property on the east side of the island was the perfect spot for our base. Where ever we went, whether north or south, the longest drive to get there was 1 1/4 hours. The home had a direct ocean front view and was steps away from the hiking/biking path which we utilized for walks after an early dinner or to just watch the sunrise. The house itself was very spacious, clean, and tastefully decorated making us feel very comfortable in it. I highly recommend this unit and should we return to Kaua’i would rent it again.

perfect condo at pono kai
This place is gorgeous! It is just as pictured and described with a couple of bonuses. The condo was spotless, the A/C works great, and the kitchen had everything we needed in it - and we cooked everyday.
I really appreciated the ease of communication with Kauai Vacation Rentals. Overall, the condo was wonderful and a great value. We will certainly stay again.
Bonus: The main bath closet was stocked with everything we needed for the beach (and more). This saved us time and money from having to rent it elsewhere. When we were there, this included beach chairs and mats, sun umbrellas, wagon, bogie boards, and a perfectly-sized small cooler.

amazing views and property
This property fit our family of 4 perfectly. With two teenage daughters the two bathrooms were perfect. The air condition worked great and the view from the balcony was beautiful. The management company was responsive to all questions. The property grounds are very pretty, and simple. Not a huge resort style environment which made it very laid back and relaxing. The unit had beach chairs, a beach wagon, umbrellas you name it. The location makes getting to the north shore Princeville area or south side of the island about an 30-45 min drive so a great central location. Plenty of restaurants close by. Only comment is that while there is laundry it’s not in the unit. There are shared laundry rooms at $1.50 a load. The unit did provide laundry soap though.

amazing stay
We stayed here for a family vacation. The property is definitely older but the inside has been beautifully remodeled and decorated. We had everything we needed and it passed the cleanliness inspection per our most particular traveler. Lived the view and sat on the deck most nights enjoying the ocean view and sound of the waves. The location was perfect and central on the island. The management company was so helpful, great at communication, and insured our safety during a weather interruption. I would stay here again and recommend it to anyone!

spectacular!
Spectacular in every way! Location, location, location! Right in the heart of Kapaa and walkable to all points of interest. Being on the bike path was a definite plus. For those concerned with too much foot or bike traffic, it's not an issue. This was our 5th time on Kauai but first stay at Pono Kai. Spoiler alert - it won't be our last! This particular unit was very clean, spacious, and has everything you need for your stay. The master bedroom has unforgettable sunrises every morning. Do yourself a favor and don't hesitate to book this unit for your stay!

great bang for your buck on the west side of kauia
Just a really nice place to stay with wonderful ocean views and fantastic sunrises. The unit itself was very clean and extremely well equipped with even a set of golf clubs.

a kauai paradise
OUr condo had a magnificent view of the ocean! It was wonderful to sit out on the porch and view the sunrise every morning and hear the ocean all day if we didn't want to venture out. The path that runs along the back has walkers and bikers all day and night and we loved joining them.

perfection!!
Pono Kai Unit A-201 is perfection! This completely updated condo is very clean, comfortable and well appointed. The location of this unit provides additional privacy since it's located at the very end of the complex, not to mention the spectacular ocean views and sunrises. The kitchen is large and well-stocked with everything you could possibly need to prepare meals. The unit does not provide cooking oils or spices, but that's normal for a vacation rental. There's a 24-hour Safeway about a mile down the road where you can get everything you need.
The hall closet is stocked with tons of extra towels and linens, and the main bath closet has everything you need for a day at the beach! The condo complex is quiet, well maintained and centrally located between the north and south shores. Be sure to rent bicycles and take the bike path north ~ it was one of the highlights of our trip!

lovely waterfront condo
This Pono Kai condo had everything we needed to enjoy a wonderful week in Kauai. The location was perfect to be able to travel and explore the island from North to South without long drives. Beds were comfortable and condo was clean.

fantastic views!
This condo is perfect for a Kapaa stay. The oceanfront view is spectacular and close enough to be lulled to sleep by the ocean yet far enough off the bike trail. The condo is extraordinarily clean, roomy and comfortable! Well appointed with great beach gear. Comfortable beds and the air was very nice to have on humid nights in August. Walking distance to food and sundries. The grounds are beautiful with lots to do there (pool, croquet, volleyball, fire pits, koi pond etc). The only thing we’d add would be a few basic spices for cooking!

great room! great view!
Location, view and room were wonderful! 2 things I would correct there were no dressers in the rooms. The rug by the kitchen sink is a tripping hazard for senior citizens like us.

We had a great stay in this condo! Communication through Kauai Vacation Rentals was clear throughout the booking and payment process. Check in was easy. Condo was clean and beds were very comfortable. View was amazing! Location, steps from the beach and walking path along the shore was perfect for daily sunrise watching. A/C was nice to have, but not needed much due to island breeze. Appreciated beach chairs, cooler, and boogie boards in the unit!

the heart of kauai—kapa’a
Within the town of Kapa’a there is a jewel on the beach: Pono Kai. Specifically, A-201 at Pono Kai you will have the best value and care (from the resort and the private management company, Kauai Rentals) to ensure you have what you’ll need within reason, to be comfortable in your temporary home. The location can’t be beat! If you are an early riser and live sunrises, this is THE place to be! Two bedrooms, which includes a king-sized bed and two twin beds and two full bathrooms. The path that is between your condo and the ocean will take you along the ocean for miles in either direction. Have fun exploring and enjoy the comforts of this condo when you return from your adventures.
One simple thing could be added in the main bedroom, a nightstand on the other side of the bed (I used a large Costco box while we stayed).

wonderful girls getaway in beautiful kauai
We had a wonderful experience going through Kauai Vacation rentals for our condo rental. Their communication was excellent and informed us every step of the way. The condo was exactly as presented on their website. Everything we needed for a very comfortable stay was provided. The

beautiful windy ocean location
If you love a beautiful ocean view and listening to the ocean and tradewinds, this is the place for you. A beautiful many-mile bike path along the east-side ocean separates you from a little-used beach that seems safer for swimming than other Kauai beaches. Listen to the wind and ocean all night in your ocean-front bedroom, and wake to the Kauai roosters. Unit needs updating, but was clean, spacious and met our needs. Unit has beach chairs and boogie boards and beach-goers can shower off sand, or pool and hot tub on property. Watch a few fishing boats leave from the river. Location, location, location says it all for us. Pono Kai in Kapaa town is a good central location for island visitors, ocean-front restaurants at Sam’s, the Oasis, Lava Lava, and Crooked Surf. Safeway groceries near by ....get a discount card. Kauai Vacation Rentals was a pleasure to deal with.

great location and beautiful ocean view
This unit has a wonderful location in Kapaa and on the island. Pros are location, great ocean view, two bedrooms and bathrooms, and end/top unit in the condo complex. Cons are outdated unit with foil wallpaper in the bathrooms, molded caulk in master bathroom, no bathroom fans, no air conditioning, and carpet all throughout unit. This unit worked well for our family of four. It would have been nice to have a more updated unit with AC, but overall this unit works well if your spending your days outside on the island.

great views from lanai
The condo was all that we asked for, on the beach, clean and close to area shops and restaurants. Convenient to driving to different areas. We were told the furnishings and condo itself had not been updated. This was an understatement! Wallpaper in bathrooms looked like it was from the 70s. Even the Goodwill would not have accepted some of the furniture. The beds were comfortable. All that being said we would stay there again because of the location, beautiful views and price!

great choice for a nice family vacation
Great Location; Very Well maintained; Very professional and helpful staff; Kapaa "downtown" right there; Everything went well. The only suggestion for improvement is
1. Option for cleaning service especially for families renting for a week or more
2. The kitchen can be slightly better equipped (not that it was bad but it can be better)

location is everything! what a view!
First off, we love being situated in the middle of Kapaa Town. Easy to walk to the stores, a great bike path and a bunch of places to eat nearby. The condo is an end unit with a wonderful ocean view. While it shows it's age a bit, tear out the carpet and do some minor updates and the place would be perfect. It would probably be double the price as well! The Pono Kai property is immaculately maintained with lot's of activities to keep the family occupied after a long day at the beach. We will no doubt stay here again on our next visit!
