dream house :)
We stayed Kealia Landing in June of 2026, and it was a dream house on a dream vacation. The view is absolutely incredible. We spent every minute we could outside watching the waves roll in from the beautiful blue ocean. Watching some extremely talented surfers off in the distance each day was a bonus. The house was well stocked and in great shape. Everything was spotless and the property manager was extremely responsive and helpful. The internet worked fine and the massive TV was great for watching a couple of movies with the kids. I would give the house a 11/10 and would also highly recommend Kauai Vacation Rentals. Mahalo!

family kauai vacation
Our stay at Kealia landing was absolutely amazing! It had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. We wanted a place we could stay and be happy even if we never left the property and this was it. The whole island is magical and we did leave the property a lot to explore everything. What you see in the pictures is what you get. Clean and lovely. The only thing that was disappointing was the trail down to the beach. We went down it once and never again. Not very friendly even for our very in shape teenagers. That being said the drive down to the beach is super fast and we had fun at it. Plus it is beautiful! The town offers shopping and wonderful food. Close to the airport and easy to get everywhere on the island. We did not have any issues and would love to come back!

family stay
We had a good time at Kealia Landing house. The house suited our needs just fine: three bedrooms each with their own bath for three adult couples vacationing together. The lanai and kitchen served us well. The fresh ocean breeze coming through the big windows and doors was so nice.
Only a few items for maintenance or to address: we would suggest having gutters cleaned since they filled with rain water and overflowed because of debris in them. All door and window hardware need maintenance since they were hard to open and close at times.
The path to the beach is very steep and the lower section is virtually invisible. You have to bushwhack through the grasses to the trail/walking path below. We would suggest knocking down the grasses so a distinct path is visible from house to trail.
Be careful with the beach below the house. Towards the life guard stand is the better area. The area below the house and closer to the breakwater has many unhoused people living in cars and tents. Unsightly and at times, smelled :(

the greatest view
This was a great place to stay and I am considering renting the house again next year. There was a few drawbacks though. The dishwasher and garbage disposal needs to be replaced. Insect abatement needs to be improved. And the house needs air conditioning.

whale watching every morning!
Wonderful experience staying here. Extremely well equipped kitchen and laundry. Bring your binoculars. We thoroughly enjoyed morning coffee on the patio watching the whales in the distance. Comfortable beds, lovely layout.

fantastic house!
Pros: This is an architecturally stunning house on a bluff overlooking Kealia beach. The general location is great because you can access all parts of the island in about 90 min of driving. The views of the ocean are amazing. Since the house faces East, each morning, you can wake up to amazing sun rises over the ocean which you can view from your bed. We also could see whales surfacing in the distance. We were a group of 5 people and had plenty of room to spread out. There is even an office to do work if you need it. The kitchen was very well stocked for cooking. They have beach chairs, ubrellas, and a cooler for use on the beach. The rental agency was great to work with. Easy check in and check out. Neighborhood is very quiet.
Cons: Since it is up on a bluff, the trail down to the beach is steep and difficult to navigate. The beach itself is for surfing and boogie boarding (no snorkeling). There are a few folks who live there and drive trucks right onto the beach (sometimes there was noise from loud sterios late at night). We mostly drove to the other beautiful beaches on the island. Be aware the house has no AC which was not much of a problem with the strong breeze, cool nights and fans with lots of windows.

wonderful location
Travelled with family and was overall very pleased with the house. Kitchen and entire home were very well appointed - everything we needed (and more) was available to make our stay comfortable and relaxed. Views are incredible, only "downside" was a very raucous Saturday night on the public beach below the house (obviously not the owners fault). Would definitely book again when traveling to Kauai.

perfection!
This was our first visit to Kauai after going to Maui for years. We didn’t know what to expect. The house is an easy drive to everything being somewhat in the middle. We stoped at Walmart when we landed to do a pickup order and were at the house within 45 minutes from landing. The house was super clean, with an open floor plan. The view was spectacular — we spent a lot of time just sitting outside taking it all in. The path to the beach is not great — much easier to just make the short drive especially since you can park on the beach. If you don’t have a four wheel drive however, use the parking lot as the sand with take your car down! It was fun being so close to Kapa’a and the walking path. Be sure to visit Do key beach just to experience the walk into it. Amazing house—if we visit again I can’t imagine staying anywhere else!!

fantastic week at karli’s landing
This is a lovely and comfortable home with amazing views and a great location. We love the North Shore, but also enjoy Kapaa. The beach below the house is beautiful and great for kids. The house itself is great and the response if there is an issue is incredibly quick and friendly. My only regret for reviewing this place so positively is that we may not get our reservation next year. Absolutely fantastic.

fantastics cliff, oceanfront views
Views of ocean are fantastic and short drive down to beach below. Don't even think about navigating down hillside. House was great but you are staying here for the end to end panorama views of the ocean. Only downside is for whatever reason the extra parking spot outside that is for those staying there is/was used by transients with cars parking there. Reported that to rental. Police had to come twice with one a foot pursuit down the hill. Not great scenery there for our kids and is the big reason why you definitely can't leave anything unlocked when not there. Also guest toilet broke at the end of stay.

great kauai location
This was the second time that we stayed at the Kealia Landing house; the first time was 9 years ago. It was a vacation with our two grown children and their partners. We enjoyed the house the first time around, so booked it again, primarily based on its terrific location. The house was a bit worn this time, and could use a few upgrades. There were still no hooks to hang towels in the 2 downstairs bathrooms (my complaint from 9 years ago!!!). Unfortunately, there was also an issue with no hot water in the master shower, although there was hot water everywhere else in the house, including the master bath. The management company immediately came to assess the situation, determined what the issue was, which could not be addressed during our stay, but a suitable agreement was made with the owner. Issues with any house can occur, so I do not hold this against the property. Also, as stated by other reviewers, the downstairs bedrooms can get stuffy when the windows are closed, although there are fans which helped. The master bedroom was great, with the doors open all night and the sound of the ocean. The location of the house was ideal, with reasonable driving times to destinations in either direction. There was a walking/biking path which stretched both north and south from the house. This time around, we couldn't find the iffy and steep path down to the beach, but it was no problem walking or driving to the beach. The house had beach chairs and beach towels, and most other items needed for our stay. We didn't do much cooking, choosing to eat out....but there were many dining options just a few minutes drive away. The house wasn't perfect, but we still really enjoyed our time there.

Beautiful home and stunning views from lanai. Home does not have central air but cools down beautifully if you open it up. Trail to beach is steep but manageable if you don't haul alot of gear down. Loved having beach towels, umbrella, chairs and even a cooler available. We had a fantastic time !

a wonderful family getaway!
We rented this house for a getaway for just four of us. The house was very clean when we arrived and had so much space for us to spread out and relax. The openness of the floor plan was perfect. The kitchen was fully stocked with dishes/pots/pans/utensils/etc - we didn't need anything extra. The home was beautiful. There were beach essentials included - beach chairs, beach umbrellas, and towels. We LOVED the view and being so close to the waves was so soothing.
Things to be aware of (but aren't necessarily negatives) - there is no AC in this house and it can get hot and muggy. Opening the sliding glass doors with screens helps alleviate that, but it's possible that bugs get in. We had a few creepy crawlies when we got there, and I called management to help and they had the pest control guy come and spray an extra time - this took care of it. There is a trail down to the beach, but it is a bit precarious in places. We opted to drive over to the parking lot (a quick 2 minute drive) since we took all of our beach gear too. The neighbors are so friendly and have incredible recommendations on food that is not to miss! Overall, we loved this house and would recommend it to our friends. It was a fabulous way to experience Kauaii for the first time. The location is so central to explore the island easily, and there were some days that we just stayed and relaxed at home!

perfect location for the island
This was our first time going to the Island and I was a little hesitant staying in an house, afraid I might miss out on something, but it was perfect. we watched whales every morning, sunrise and sunset views were amazing. we cooked every night and the drive to the north side and the southside to do adventures were not bad at all. highly recommend staying at this location.

Beautiful home. The view was amazing.
Problems with roaches and VERY large spiders.
The home does not have AC, and windows need to be open in order to keep it bearable. (leading to challenges with critters coming inside)
We called the managemnt company who were courteous, but the exterminator didn't do anything. (no additional spraying, just told us to close the screen doors better)
The beach is public access, so noise from the beach is sometimes transmitted, though this wasn't too problematic.

fabulous!
Kealia Landing House was perfect for my family’s Kauai vacation! Waking each morning to watch the colorful sky as the sun rose while drinking coffee and planning our day’s adventure over the sounds of the surf below was wonderful. The trade winds and bedroom ceiling fans kept the house very comfortable. We found everything needed in the kitchen and the many beach supplies provided were appreciated. The house is very well maintained and the landscaping around the property lines created privacy. We used the paved trail below the house for morning walks and bike rides. As others have noted, the trail to the beach is challenging but manageable. The location of the house was perfect for exploring all of the island. We spent time hiking an exploring the Na Pali coast, Poipu, Hanalei, and Waimea Canyon. We were incredibly pleased with our experience with Kauai Rentals. They were super with outreach as our trip approached and very responsive to our requests. Best of all we were asked to do nothing but lock the house up when we departed. Unlike many recent experiences with online rental sites where we have been required to strip beds, start laundry, and empty waste baskets even after paying hefty cleaning fees.

wonderful house and views
Prior to arrival Kauai Vacation Rentals was very professional at every step of the way. From the agreement to calling prior to our flights to picking up the keys. The house was very clean when we arrived.
The house is an amazing example architecture and construction. A very nice place to stay. We loved the location - We hiked down the path for a swim and would have dinner on the picnic table every night. It’s a 2 miles hike to Kapaa for coffee or food. The kitchen has everything you need and the beach towels, chairs, boogie boards, umbrellas were all in really good condition. We have everything we needed to make it a wonderful stay. The only negative is the BBQ grill. It’s too small and you are not able to read or set the temperature. I recommend KVR’s as a company to work with and for us the house was ideal. Thank you KVR!

relaxing vacation retreat
12 days in quiet beauty. The house was nicely set up and maintained. The AV system took some getting used to but we finally figured it out. The kitchen had almost everything needed (a 1 cup measuring cup would have been nice) and was well arranged to make fixing a meal easy. We enjoyed the 9 geckos sharing our living space for 2 weeks. Very quiet neighborhood and access to one of the loveliest beaches on Kauai.

still sitting on the lani
This home is wonderful. I’m back home now, but my soul is still sitting on the lani. Our whole family (6 adults) had plenty of space. The beach was fabulous. Hearing the ocean waves while falling asleep is special. This house was an excellent choice.

house with a view
We all enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home. It was well maintained, nicely furnished and very comfortable for our family of five. By far the view was the outstanding feature. It was a steep trek to the beach but worth it. The neighborhood was quiet and Kapaa was a short drive away, though the traffic was terrible at times. Easy location for day trips north or south.
