great location and great views
We love hanalei and the house is in a perfect location with great views. However, the furniture is very outdated and uncomfortable. The king bed is comfortable and has been updated. The living room couches and chairs need to be replaced. The kitchen chair cushions are moldy. The stove only worked intermittently as did the refrigerator.

a great spot in hanalei
The location is amazing - - walking distance to everything. The view from the kitchen of the waterfalls is very cool. It has one simple bathroom with a plastic shower insert which works. No fancy shampoos or soaps in the bathroom and no spices in the kitchen, so you need to buy/take what you need. That said, the price is based on convenient access to the bay and town. It's a great spot.

amazing location, great views
We absolutely loved our stay in Hanalei Bay. Beautiful house! Everything was very clean. Great stocked kitchen with plenty of room to cook. Area under the house with laundry, great beach amenities (4 beach chairs, sand mat, toys, umbrella), and a nice area to store wet stuff. Loved all the provided linens and beach towels.
These weren't really issues but something to be aware of:
- You must pickup and drop off your house key at their headquarters near the airport. Super easy if you have a car but don't forget!
- The bedrooms don't have ceilings so you can hear... everything. Bring ear plugs and eye masks if you are sensitive or go to bed early.
- The house is a little rough around the edges. It is older and some of the stuff (couch, beds, chairs) haven't been updated in awhile and definitely show wear and tear. A bit frustrating given the cost but you are paying for the location.

wonderful on so many levels
We loved the hideaway. It is a special gem in a great Hanalei Everything we needed to relax and enjoy Kauai. The views of the hills from the kitchen are amazing, beds comfortable. Such a gift!!

Outstanding location. Walk to beach and to town. Property interior is a bit dated but comfortable. Vaulted ceiling allows noise from room to room.

hideaway in september
We had a lovely stay. Loved walking to the beach for sunset every night, sitting on the front lanai after a day’s activity, easy walk to town and the farmer’s market. Felt very safe in the neighborhood. Beautiful views out the kitchen window. Towels were yummily soft. Would have preferred to not find dried food under the couch. Must remove the description of a dishwasher present.

great location at hanalei
Within walking distance of both local shops (including a grocery store) and the beach. Views from the home were beautiful. Be advised there is no ac or dishwasher. There are multiple fans, and we kept the windows open, which was sufficient with the breeze. Washer and dryer are a bonus. The kitchen was well equipped, and we appreciated the beach chairs, and used the grill. I will definitely rent here again if we get the chance to come back. Customer service with the rental process was exceptional. I love Hanalei. Neighbors were quiet. We did have a rooster and his family, including chicks nesting in the shrubs. If you want to drive to Ha'ena State Park, be prepared to reserve early for that. Hanalei Bay was beautiful and the water just right for the month of May. You don't need full sun to enjoy the beach; we went out on "cloudy" days and still felt warm. We only had one day out of five that was rained out.

a bit of hanalei bay paradise.
We loved the location (view, close to beach access) and the lanai. The kitchen was well equipped. The house was a bit rustic but that will not stop us from returning.

nice location
Our stay at Hanalei Hideaway was a good one. We enjoyed sitting out in the lanai every morning having our coffee and looking at the ocean. We were glad the rental has some great fans to use which were perfect for sleeping and staying cooler. We were able to walk or bike to town as well as to the beach! The unit was clean and worked out great for my husband and I. The management company was very nice. The one item I wish was different would be to have a lock box with the key or a code to get in. It was a little bit of a inconvenience to have to drive to Lihue to pick up keys for a rental way up in Hanalei. Mahalo!

hanalei hideaway stay
This is my second time renting from Kauai Vacation Rentals and my second stay in Hanalei. I was very happy with my stay and my chosen accommodation - an easy walk to shopping and the beach, the home was comfortable and well maintained and everything needed for a relaxing stay was right there. It also has a large garden area, both front and back which was great when the sun was shining. The front deck was also nice in the evening to relax and watch the world go by before sundown while listening to the sound of the ocean and the birds. When we lost power during a storm, the next door neighbour very kindly called and offered a supply of water or the use of their gas stove if necessary which was very thoughtful of them - particularly when they will have a revolving door of neighbours through the year. Would certainly consider renting this property again in future.

fabulous location and views
Wonderful house with beautiful views and quick access to the beach. We loved the week we spent here. The furniture is stylistically slightly dated, but you definitely won't care about that even one little bit once you arrive and spend a couple of minutes sitting on the Lanai.

location, location, location
Authentic Hawaiian beach cottage with some vintage flair. This place was magical for us. Front porch with ocean view as a perfect place for breakfast and awesome sunsets. Only a few minutes walking to the beach or to restaurants and coffee shops at the Main street. We stayed here for almost one months with our 6 months old sun and had the best time of our life.

lovely little retreat
Our family of three had an incredible stay in the Hideaway! We were walking distance from everything in town including surfing, an easy drive to snorkeling beaches, and loved the views of the ocean and the mountains. The kitchen was fully equipped, and the house was incredibly cozy!

We returned to Hanalei the end of June- our favorite vacation destination! Hanalei Hideaway was the perfect home for three of us. The greatest bonus was the ocean view from the front deck where we enjoyed morning coffee, dinners, and just relaxing! It was a perfect location- easy beach access and a short walk to town. The home was cute and charming and had everything we needed- very comfortable! We needed some assistance and Kauai Vacation Rentals was very accommodating and easy to get hold of. The road closures were very easy to work around- but we spent most of our time in Hanalei anyway! We can't wait to come back and would love to stay at this location again- Mahalo!!
