 Ulu Pua is a classic, Kauai-style hale, or home, situated in a lovely landscaped surround of tropical fruit trees and flowers. Brightly flowering hibiscus, papaya, banana and coconut trees border the lawn creating a visual barrier to neighboring properties, yet do nothing to diminish the ocean view.

|  Ulu Pua, which means flower garden in Hawaiian, is a wonderful place for a family gathering. It sleeps six, features a large, inviting lanai with comfortable outdoor furniture and a homey living area with plenty of space for cooking and good conversation.

|  Close to one of Kauai’s favorite beaches, it occupies a private spot set back from the road. One man, who spent time at Ulu Pua, left saying that this is a home that makes people happy. The décor is playful with handpainted petroglyphs lining the rafters and birds singing in the sunset.

|  On the south side of the island, Ulu Pua is close to a surfing school, golf courses, lots of good beaches, resorts and restaurants and a harbor where snorkel and whale-watching boats conduct regular ocean tours.
|
|  If you want to get a feel for the way most Kauaians live, Ulu Pua is a good choice. The living is comfortable and it is a happy place. |
