A beach protected by a barrier reef is within walking distance. This uncrowded beach is called "Baby Beach" by the locals because of the gentle surf and safety afforded to smaller children. Other beaches of Kapaa offer windsurfing and kite surfing or enjoy the many surfing spots on the east shore of Kauai.
