Reminiscent of designs by architect Richard Neutra, the house is a modernist, architectural delight. Floor-to-ceiling windows, ten-foot-high Honduras mahogany ceilings and warm stained concrete floors are just a few of the features of this modern, elegant and very private home.

Perfectly designed and furnished for three couples; enjoy viewing entertainment from your Netflix and Amazon Prime streaming accounts through the 83-inch flat screen TV. The home office has great views of the Pacific and a well-supplied Hawaiiana library housing many books on Kauai and the history of Kauai.

Sit on the lawn and enjoy spectacular breaches of seasonal whales. According to The Garden Island newspaper, in a Kauai yearly whale count the highest average number of whales in a 15-minute period were sighted just across Kealia Bay below the house.

In the evening delight in the refreshing trade winds as myriad seabirds, including Frigates, Boobies and even Albatrosses make their way past as they return to the Kilauea Lighthouse Bird Sanctuary. Enjoy spectacular sun and moon rises over the ocean as well as great views of surrounding landmarks Sleeping Giant Mountain, Kong Mountain and in clear weather the waterfalls of Mt. Waialeale, right from your door.

One wall of the first level great room is nearly all glass with breath taking views of the ocean. The second floor is a spacious master suite with platform bed and roomy private lanai overlooking the cobalt blue sea. On the first floor step out to the ocean side lanai with a built-in Honduras mahogany and granite topped picnic table with adjacent gas barbecue. Enjoy the view while dining on grilled island seafood with fresh local ingredients as well as personal favorites.

Easy and equal access to all sides of the island from this wonderful location – plus Kapaa is right next door with a wide selection of restaurants, activities, markets and shops. This was our first visit to Kauai after going to Maui for years. We didn’t know what to expect. The house is an easy drive to everything being somewhat in the middle. We stoped at Walmart when we landed to do a pickup order and were at the house within 45 minutes from landing. The house was super clean, with an open floor plan. The view was spectacular — we spent a lot of time just sitting outside taking it all in. The path to the beach is not great — much easier to just make the short drive especially since you can park on the beach. If you don’t have a four wheel drive however, use the parking lot as the sand with take your car down! It was fun being so close to Kapa’a and the walking path. Be sure to visit Do key beach just to experience the walk into it. Amazing house—if we visit again I can’t imagine staying anywhere else!!

This is a lovely and comfortable home with amazing views and a great location. We love the North Shore, but also enjoy Kapaa. The beach below the house is beautiful and great for kids. The house itself is great and the response if there is an issue is incredibly quick and friendly. My only regret for reviewing this place so positively is that we may not get our reservation next year. Absolutely fantastic.

Views of ocean are fantastic and short drive down to beach below. Don't even think about navigating down hillside. House was great but you are staying here for the end to end panorama views of the ocean. Only downside is for whatever reason the extra parking spot outside that is for those staying there is/was used by transients with cars parking there. Reported that to rental. Police had to come twice with one a foot pursuit down the hill. Not great scenery there for our kids and is the big reason why you definitely can't leave anything unlocked when not there. Also guest toilet broke at the end of stay.

This was the second time that we stayed at the Kealia Landing house; the first time was 9 years ago. It was a vacation with our two grown children and their partners. We enjoyed the house the first time around, so booked it again, primarily based on its terrific location. The house was a bit worn this time, and could use a few upgrades. There were still no hooks to hang towels in the 2 downstairs bathrooms (my complaint from 9 years ago!!!). Unfortunately, there was also an issue with no hot water in the master shower, although there was hot water everywhere else in the house, including the master bath. The management company immediately came to assess the situation, determined what the issue was, which could not be addressed during our stay, but a suitable agreement was made with the owner. Issues with any house can occur, so I do not hold this against the property. Also, as stated by other reviewers, the downstairs bedrooms can get stuffy when the windows are closed, although there are fans which helped. The master bedroom was great, with the doors open all night and the sound of the ocean. The location of the house was ideal, with reasonable driving times to destinations in either direction. There was a walking/biking path which stretched both north and south from the house. This time around, we couldn't find the iffy and steep path down to the beach, but it was no problem walking or driving to the beach. The house had beach chairs and beach towels, and most other items needed for our stay. We didn't do much cooking, choosing to eat out....but there were many dining options just a few minutes drive away. The house wasn't perfect, but we still really enjoyed our time there.

Beautiful home and stunning views from lanai. Home does not have central air but cools down beautifully if you open it up. Trail to beach is steep but manageable if you don't haul alot of gear down. Loved having beach towels, umbrella, chairs and even a cooler available. We had a fantastic time !

Beautifully laid out house, perfect for a family or group of friends, each with their own private suite. Includes beach gear - chairs, towels, umbrella, toys etc. Stunning views for days - wake up to sunrise and sounds of the rolling waves + chickens of course. We rented this house for a getaway for just four of us. The house was very clean when we arrived and had so much space for us to spread out and relax. The openness of the floor plan was perfect. The kitchen was fully stocked with dishes/pots/pans/utensils/etc - we didn't need anything extra. The home was beautiful. There were beach essentials included - beach chairs, beach umbrellas, and towels. We LOVED the view and being so close to the waves was so soothing.
Things to be aware of (but aren't necessarily negatives) - there is no AC in this house and it can get hot and muggy. Opening the sliding glass doors with screens helps alleviate that, but it's possible that bugs get in. We had a few creepy crawlies when we got there, and I called management to help and they had the pest control guy come and spray an extra time - this took care of it. There is a trail down to the beach, but it is a bit precarious in places. We opted to drive over to the parking lot (a quick 2 minute drive) since we took all of our beach gear too. The neighbors are so friendly and have incredible recommendations on food that is not to miss! Overall, we loved this house and would recommend it to our friends. It was a fabulous way to experience Kauaii for the first time. The location is so central to explore the island easily, and there were some days that we just stayed and relaxed at home!

This was our first time going to the Island and I was a little hesitant staying in an house, afraid I might miss out on something, but it was perfect. we watched whales every morning, sunrise and sunset views were amazing. we cooked every night and the drive to the north side and the southside to do adventures were not bad at all. highly recommend staying at this location.

We spent ten days at this property in November and it was a memorable experience. I had never been to this island before so i read a lot of reviews on this house beforehand so hopefully this review is helpful to someone else.

First, the good: The house is amazing. Truly. The layout is perfect and the views are possibly the best on the island. Everything in the house was high quality and well taken care of. It's in good proximity to restaurants, the airport and all sorts of activities. The beach was beautiful and the water calm enough for our children to swim in safely.

Now, the bad: Getting to the beach can be a challenge. At best, it is a steep hike but if you have young children or elderly folks with you, it would be nearly impassible. The other big negative is the beach itself; Unfortunately there are quite a few homeless folks that use this specific beach as a place to sleep. I'm not sure why they choose this beach in particular but there were multiple vehicles (cars are allowed on this beach) with folks sleeping inside every single night. And unfortunately for us, the worst case scenario happened as a homeless woman let herself into the house while we were there. She wasn't violent but very intoxicated and the police had to be called. No harm was done but it was a scary experience and it led to us locking the house down every night including all the sliding doors which made it pretty stuffy.

Personally I probably wouldn't come back to this particular property because i have young children but it really is a fantastic location. Were it not for the few negatives i mentioned, i would recommend it to anyone.

What a great place to stay for a visit to Kauai! Beautiful house with an unbelievable view! Very well stocked with everything you will need! Lucy and her staff at Kauai Vacation Rentals were great and provided a wonderful experience!

Beautiful home. The view was amazing.
Problems with roaches and VERY large spiders.
The home does not have AC, and windows need to be open in order to keep it bearable. (leading to challenges with critters coming inside)

We called the managemnt company who were courteous, but the exterminator didn't do anything. (no additional spraying, just told us to close the screen doors better)


The beach is public access, so noise from the beach is sometimes transmitted, though this wasn't too problematic.

Kealia Landing House was perfect for my family’s Kauai vacation! Waking each morning to watch the colorful sky as the sun rose while drinking coffee and planning our day’s adventure over the sounds of the surf below was wonderful. The trade winds and bedroom ceiling fans kept the house very comfortable. We found everything needed in the kitchen and the many beach supplies provided were appreciated. The house is very well maintained and the landscaping around the property lines created privacy. We used the paved trail below the house for morning walks and bike rides. As others have noted, the trail to the beach is challenging but manageable. The location of the house was perfect for exploring all of the island. We spent time hiking an exploring the Na Pali coast, Poipu, Hanalei, and Waimea Canyon. We were incredibly pleased with our experience with Kauai Rentals. They were super with outreach as our trip approached and very responsive to our requests. Best of all we were asked to do nothing but lock the house up when we departed. Unlike many recent experiences with online rental sites where we have been required to strip beds, start laundry, and empty waste baskets even after paying hefty cleaning fees.

We had a wonderful time here. Great location and easy to get around. Uber was easy to order too. Fantastic views private and great tv area. We saw whales on late March right off the deck.

Prior to arrival Kauai Vacation Rentals was very professional at every step of the way. From the agreement to calling prior to our flights to picking up the keys. The house was very clean when we arrived.
The house is an amazing example architecture and construction. A very nice place to stay. We loved the location - We hiked down the path for a swim and would have dinner on the picnic table every night. It’s a 2 miles hike to Kapaa for coffee or food. The kitchen has everything you need and the beach towels, chairs, boogie boards, umbrellas were all in really good condition. We have everything we needed to make it a wonderful stay. The only negative is the BBQ grill. It’s too small and you are not able to read or set the temperature. I recommend KVR’s as a company to work with and for us the house was ideal. Thank you KVR!

12 days in quiet beauty. The house was nicely set up and maintained. The AV system took some getting used to but we finally figured it out. The kitchen had almost everything needed (a 1 cup measuring cup would have been nice) and was well arranged to make fixing a meal easy. We enjoyed the 9 geckos sharing our living space for 2 weeks. Very quiet neighborhood and access to one of the loveliest beaches on Kauai.

This home is wonderful. I’m back home now, but my soul is still sitting on the lani. Our whole family (6 adults) had plenty of space. The beach was fabulous. Hearing the ocean waves while falling asleep is special. This house was an excellent choice.

My husband and I brought our four teenagers to Kauai last week. We spent eight nights in this beautiful home. The house is simply gorgeous. We enjoyed cooking in the kitchen, the view from our master bedroom balcony and the location of this property. Located on Kealia Beach, we were close to Kapaa, the South and the North Shores. The property manager was kind and the home was outfitted with beach towels, chairs, and everything we would need to have a comfortable stay. I would definitely recommend this home. It is tied as my favorite rental with Home Away.

We liked the layout of the home. We took many hikes and enjoyed the town of Kapa'a. With the home so centrally located, we found traversing to both the north, south and even west very easy.

One word, "Beautiful".  This house offers the most amazing unobstructed views to the sea.  The sound of crashing waves, the breeze from the ocean winds cooling the inside of the house from the floor to ceiling sliding doors throughout the main floor and second floor master bedroom, a dream rental come true. The amazing ceiling fans along with the night breeze keep you cool without air conditioning. The kitchen was equipped with everything to prepare and serve meals. Top of the line appliances for use to enjoy the island foods right in your own space.  The Lanai faces Kealia Beach with a direct view of nature at it's best.  Wonderful lighting throughout the house with dimmer switches for low lighting at night, enhancing your relaxation when coming back after a day long excursion. I don't advise using the steep walking trail down the hillside as a shortcut to the beach, quite steep and slick, even for my adventurous side.  Be very careful if you plan to swim at Kealia Beach, it's quite sneaky with the undertow current which will pull you out further than desired.  It has no mercy!  The staff at Kauai Vacation Rental were top notch, a small problem arose with the kitchen sink and they had a maintenance person out within 30 minutes.  Just a note, the house is equipped with a security system and safe,  it was very reassuring for those of us who are sometimes skiddish about unwanted visitors while away. Loved our time at Kealia Landing House and would recommend it for an east shore vacation spot on Kauai.

This is an amazing house in an amazing location. Close to a great beach, yet very private location away from the resorts. We celebrated our 30th anniversary here with our kids and had a great time building memories that will last a lifetime. When we do come back to Kauai, we will definitely look to rent this home again.

This home was perfect for our family of 5. We loved eating our meals out on the lanai. Close proximity to the beach. Nice master bedroom with jacuzzi tub and balcony. Home had all the modern appliances, large screen TV, bathrooms for everyone. KVR exceeded our expectations. Everything was better than we even hoped for. Thank you!

Outstanding property with fantastic view, appealing decor and architecture situated atop a bluff overlooking the ocean. Steep but accessible short walk to the beach. Great bike path for walking/running. House is very well equipped. 

Clearly would have been a five star if it had AC. Highly recommend.
