Important Information about Ocean Safety
Please take a few moments to read some very important information about ocean safety on Kauai here: www.KauaiExplorer.com. Before you go to one of our beautiful beaches, please check that morning's ocean conditions by clicking "Get Today's Ocean Report." Be very careful when you are in and near the water and use common sense. Hazardous ocean conditions such as high surf, strong currents, sudden drop-offs and sharp, slippery coral can cause dangerous swimming conditions. And, please, swim only at beaches with a life guard. It's best to check in with the life guard before going into the ocean. Kauai's life guards have experience and training to help Kauai's beach goers be safe while having fun at the beach.
1. How do I make a reservation?
You may call or email us with your dates and preferences. If you have seen accommodations at our web site that interest you, we will be happy to check available dates for you. Please note that you are able to check availability of our condos right at our web site. Or, just tell us what is important to you and we will suggest accommodations with those features. We will need to know how many adults and children are in your party as well as your contact information (mailing address, home/cell phone numbers and email address) to complete your reservation.
2. When are payments due?
The initial deposit and reservation fee are due within ten days of making your reservation. Except for holiday reservations, rent and tax are due 60 days before your arrival. For reservations during the holidays (Dec. 15 - Jan. 6), rent and tax are due 90 days before your arrival.
3. What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept payment by check, Visa, MasterCard and American Express.
4. When and how is my security deposit refunded?
Your security deposit will be refunded approximately 2-4 weeks after your departure. We will make every effort to speed this along for you. If you paid your initial deposit by check, we will refund your security deposit by check. If you paid by credit card, we will refund your security deposit to the credit card you used for payment.
5. How do I check in? How do I get keys and directions to my accommodation?
On the day of your arrival, we can leave your Welcome/arrival packet at the check-in desk of your car rental company so you can just ask the agent there for it before leaving their office. This will have keys and directions to your accommodation. If you will be on island prior to your check-in date, we will have your Welcome/arrival packet at our Lihue office on the day of your check-in.
6. Can you help me reserve a rental car?
Yes, we will be delighted to assist you with a car rental reservation. Please let us know your arrival and departure dates and times and what size or style of car you would like to reserve. We will send you an email with your confirmation number and quoted cost. Upon your arrival, you will pay the car rental company directly upon check-in.
7. Does my accommodation have beach towels, hair dryer, bed and bath linens, iron and ironing board, free local phone service, glasses, dishes, utensils, pots and pans, coffee maker, blender, toaster and microwave?
8. Does my accommodation have high-speed internet access, wireless internet access, TV, TV cable or satellite service, and DVD player?
Most of our accommodations have these amenities; however, if these are important to you, please confirm with us at the time of booking that your accommodation has the amenities you desire.
9. Does my accommodation have air conditioning?
Most homes and condos on Kauai, including the majority of our accommodations, do not have air conditioning. Kauai is fortunate to have trade winds which, along with ceiling and/or other indoor fans to help circulate the fresh air, keep us very comfortable. If air conditioning is important to you, please be sure to ask us at the time of booking.
